I have been away for a while, I wonder if my old stash is still hidden. Let me see, if I pry this board up, and reach back around that post...
YES!!! And it is still almost full, but I can cure that.
I think I will just head back to my dark corner booth and relax for a while.

I am doing OK. While winter is my favorite season, this has been a long one that I will be glad to forget.
Watching the news, it sounded like your area got hit with some pretty bad ice storms and power was scarce. How bad did it hit you, and how are you and Karine doing?

Karine and I are doing well, actually. The ice hit hard all around us, and worse in western Kentucky. Paducah got blasted. We didn’t not loose power , luckily enough. Had to chainsaw our way into my folks’ place though. Lots of downed trees. Got them some emergency heat hooked up and all was ok in the end.
I find anymore that I like the duality of winter. That dangerously beautiful thing.
What’s up with your winter?

I am happy to hear that your area was not hit too hard. I heard that some areas were without power for weeks, and this is not a good time of year to be pwereless.
For me, this winter has just been long. Normally we have a lot of snow to play in, this year the area turned white, and then just got cold. The snow has not been deep enough to really enjoy, and without fresh snow on a regular basis, the traffic areas have just turned into pure ice. We have had several people fall and get seriously injured. I have been kept pretty busy trying to help those that are down, and I guess I am just getting tired. I am just glad that I was not one of those injured. Oh well, spring is on the way!!

Karine had a family member who fell on ice and broke their hip. They’re doing well, in fact are walking up and down stairs just a couple of week after the replacement. But damn… Not something I’d wish on anyone.
Our yard wasn’t hit hard, but everywhere else was hit harder, oddly enough. Go figure… usually we’re the one’s out of power first. Sometimes you’re the windshield…
Spring is on the way. Would you believe that flowers are starting to poke up through the soggy soil here?

I am guessing that the reason you were not hit hard is that you are prepared to deal with it. With all the gear you have for the playa, there would be no challenge for you. The ugly stuff mainly happens to those who are not prepared!!
We are probably two months away from flowers here. The river is still froze over, and we still have that original snow sitting on the ground. The only areas where the snow has melted at all is where the dogs went out in the driveway and added some color to it.

You know how when you're sitting there wondering if you'll have another one of whatever is was you were having and this little guy with wings and a halo pops out of nowhere - appearing to you as if he's sitting on your shoulder - and says, "All things in moderation..." with a kind of self-satisfied look on his face but then there's this other little guy who also pops up out of nowhere, only he's got the pointy horns and a pitchfork - again, appearing to you as if he's sitting on your other shoulder - who asks "Does that include moderation, asswipe?" and you're like, "Take it outside, fellas".
I've been listening to the guy with the pitchfork lately.

g'mornin.....
Looks like I missed some pretty fine whiskey sharing last night! darnit.
I spent the evenin with both my dtrs...painting Burnerbaby's room.
From dark magenta to butter cream yellow.
Surprisingly it covered it?
She said it was just getting to dark in there.....silly burner.
hahaaa
Little flower....Hate to tell ya, but we got a pretty bad case of Marine Velvet in our fish tank....(the equivelent of fresh water ick but worse).
So over the next 2-3 weeks we'll see what makes it through.
The stupid clown fish brought it in!

What doesnt kill them actually will make them hardier.....
Take MozY BonZ Angel fish...back in 2006, poor MozY got a horrible case of fresh water ick...it ate all his fins off, turned his whole body white from his beautiful marbeling. We left him in the care of my mom while we went to Burningman....
...when we got home, I already knew he was dead....then out from a brush of plants he came out...looking like something the cat dragged in, ate, then regurgatated.
It took him about 6 months to repair himself...but he turned out to be probably the most beautiful fish, Nice and Thick bodied, flowey wing fins...
MozY now lives in a HUGE fresh water tank here in Lemmon valley...he moved up so to speak...from a 55 gallon to a 280 gallon, with 5 females Angels all his size, for a herrem! Yeah, life is good, huh, MozY!
Hmmm I know I have a picture of him somewhere????
