But by simply getting in touch with people on here and tribe will get you connected. I've made contact with another person and we are planning to caravan out. Recently we expanded to 4 with tickets. And we are planning our own little unofficial theme camp. Further we expect our group to grow more prior to BM.

Nice thing is that we are keeping it simple. If it does not work out for any of us then that person(s) can simply move. No worries.

If the only thing you do is show up and wander around I'd be surprised if you didn't find a group to connect with.

BUT: be prepared to contribute. If you are looking for a group simply so you can take advantage of group resources...for get it. Be prepared to cook, clean, build a shower, supply booze or a shade structure... you get the point.

just cuz some of us havent been doesnt mean were 100% clueless. (80% maybe)

I actually believe that i am now with the lamplighters camp. I say "beleive" because it was almsot too easy. Snotto gave me the password and account for the blackrock extranet, and i made an account (which i beleive puts me in the camp?)

Its actually frightening how easy the process appears to have been.

From Jackrabbit Speaks:

REGISTER YOUR PLAYA PROJECT FOR 2009!

If you're going to be bringing an art installation, or a mutant
vehicle, or a pre-registered theme camp, now's the time to get it
registered! And we have deadlines for these things, folks, so pay
attention ... ready? Here:

* Art Installation: July 1
* Placement (Theme Camp or Department): May 31
* Mutant Vehicle: June 30
* Disabled Persons Vehicle: July 31

And remember, procrastination is evil. Now, before you jump into the
form and start cranking out a questionnaire, you'll want to know what
the registration criteria are first, right? Right. Here's where to go:

* Art Installations: http://tinyurl.com/b5awxz
* Theme Camps: http://tinyurl.com/aqrlj5
* Mutant Vehicles: http://tinyurl.com/aan5xs

And now that you're all informed and ready to go, fill out the
appropriate project registration form here:

* Project Registration: http://forms.burningman.com/

The earlier you register, the easier it is for our hard-working staff
and volunteers to process this stuff, so please get your registration
completed as quickly as possible. Most appreciated.

Yep, and he's giving pretty good advice.

That is exactly how I joined the Booby Bar in 2007.
Playawaste Raiders cordially invites you to suck it.
