Anyone out there going to be playing either hard or minimal techno as I would love to have the chance to hear you play

Techno? Please tell me that you're not serious! Dude... Nobody, and I mean nobody, plays that new-fangled computerized stuff out there anymore. Now the kids are all about Tuvan throat singing.

You canâ€™t throw a grenade without taking out half a dozen DJs. Every flavor of electronica you can imagine is represented along with rock, live jazz, Blues, classical, Big band, folk, drum circles and sounds no one can identify.

Feel free to sing at the top of your lungs if you wish,... just donâ€™t do it by my tent Mâ€™kay,.....

Yeah, but Zule spins happy hardcore at about 190 beats per minute, minimum!

I fucking LOVE happy hardcore, and i'm not ashamed to admit it...

granted, it's music for 12 year olds on ritalin, and 190 bpm is as fast as you can humanly pogo due to gravity, but i still NEED the thumpy thumpy to settle my mind....

ok.....i'm a 12 year old on ritalin, and simon is a helluva sock puppet...

Are some of the bigger DJ names confirmed already? I'm an Amsterdam / Utrecht (The Netherlands) based Minimal Techno DJ and ALSO hope to play at Burning Man, but besides that I want to party at Techno Raves and see some professional international DJ's...

the theme is "evolution", and, as such, there will be no Techno Raves or such. They will be replaced by bones and hollow logs.......didgeridoo will be cutting edge, in limited venues.........

Yes.

While doing a live set the music will be improvised. The arrangement of the tracks can be chanced and the samples can be edited.

A good place to start is www.opulenttemple.org. They usually post their schedule a few weeks ahead of the Burn.

i would say go to Root Society, but we've changed course, and are only doing all polka all the time...

we will have a break-polka set, and a few two-step polka artists as well as a super hot mash-up polka guy who will remain a mystery until he rips the night up.

that was a clue.

anyway, we've got alpfenflugels, flugelhorners, hornyflugels, and just plain flugelflugels for your delight and dancing.

and beer and sausages.

try to find out more about "wolf and lamb" they have brought out minimal techno to the playa a couple of times now. dont know if they will be back this year though.

as for hard techno - what? ala BEN SIMS, perhaps??- you will NOT find any quality techno on the playa, most camps have commercial dj's ala carl cox, tiesto, oakenfold, or unknown names who play those former mentioned styles and playlists, and the like. especially the bigger camps seem based on commercial clubs like pacha, crowbar and such. for some reason, "big" in america always means "commercial appeal", and "commercial appeal" in turn means 99 out of 100 times "loss of quality and experimentation". it is very sad that a community so creative as most burners are has not very much taste for the exploration of underground beats.
