I am a virgin

Post by Dephect » Wed Mar 04, 2009 1:42 pm

to the Playa. My name is Collin and this will be my first year at Burning Man. I would have gone last year but the bounds of parental consent were still present and income was not substantial. I have been in the rave scene for 4 years now but it has grown to be nothing more then the same DJs and the same venue every week. The crowd is not as peaceful, loving, unified and respectful as it once was. It has been in my dreams to go to Burning Man ever since I have seen it on Malcolm in the Middle  and its finally coming true this year even if I have to hitch hike my way out there.

I hope to see some of you out on the Playa :D

Welcome to eplaya.

Hope you make it. Rideshare threads heat up in the summer. It's best to have your own ride so that you can bring enough suppies to last the week. Tent, shade, food, water, etc...Depending too much on others can get you hurt, or worse...so bring your own and maybe enough to share.

Read the survival guide to get an idea on what you need. There are many list threads here also that are helpful. Remember the ten principals. Be self-reliant and have no expectations.

Oh I have it planned out right now. But if worst came to worse Im just saying I would hitch hike out there. My friends would all ready have a camp :) Even though this is my first year I know a bunch of veteran burners that are in y fire tribe. We will be camping up there together :D I am not one to be a mooch though so I plan to bring all my own equipment. The survival guide is nice but every time I read it or the information I dont know in it, it just makes me want it to be August even more.

OMG... please tell me MITM was not really your inspiration for attending! Welcome in any event!
A plan is what you vary from.

Destiny Lounge 3D will be at Bradbury and 3:15 this year as a part of the 404: Village Not Found group of camps! Come see us!

Greetings Dephect, if you think the survival guides makes you yearn for the playa too much, dog forbid what eplaya is going to do to you :D
Excuse me Ma'am, your going to feel a small prick.

Hey Dephect welcome to Eplaya. I hear that MITM is filming a sequel at BM this year. It should be a hoot.

Good to hear. If you truly like to build I can think of no place where your building / art will be more appreciated. Contributing to the community of Burning Man is art in its self. Rock on. See ya on the playa.

You're not talking about "Fire Tribe" based in San Diego are you?? If you are, hit me up, those are friends of mine (in fact one of them is camping with us, - Mixtress of Fire Tribe)

Don't mind Norm, he works graveyard and has to get all amped up with sugar before he goes in to make it through the night. Notice all his posts end with an exclamation point? :P~

Just messin Norm, you know I luv ya.... Not in a gay way.

Don't hate the grave shift folks. We make the world keep turning while all you Daytimers get yer beauty sleep. Turns out I only need one week of sun a year, luckily I know where they keep it.

Yeah well you're preaching to the choir (I work graveyard too, which is why I know he does :P)

Actually you got it wrong, I work the day shift. See the day starts off at 0000 hours (midnight) and ends at 2400 hours (midnight again) thus, my shift from 0000-2400 is the day shift. So what's wrong with getting amped up on sugar?

oh and uh...

Tell me about it Sail Man, then do it three days in a row! By the way, nice rule of EMS, but faking the seizure is much funnier from a jaded medical perspective. :D
