I'm reading the posts on the board and all the dates/times at the far end of the column (in each thread) say:

WHAT would I do without you peeps? Thank you very much!!!

PS: I want that clock. It's cute!! Image

Uh-oh. Flashbacks again... I miss all my monkey stuff!! For the past 6 years I collected monkey-this-monkey-that, and burner friends gifted me all kinds of monkey paraphernalia over all the years. Monkeys jacking off, monkeys that squealed and went OOO-OOO-OOO, monkeys that were green or purple or rainbow colored, monkeys that humped your leg, monkeys that flew across the room in their super hero outfits!!! The day after Christmas my home burned down. Everything is gone. Everything. I could give a rat's ass about most of it EXCEPT for my burner stuff and music CDs. **stomps, throws a fit, screams, composes herself**

I better go scream my discontent in the FUCK thread.

I can start over. Breathe.
I am starting over. Breathe.
I'm alive. Breathe.

Wow, thats fucked up. would you accept a monkey gift? Would any monkey do just to get the collection started again? And I am sure you lost more then your collection of monkey's. If there is anything we can do to help, don't hesitate to ask.

I have children in Sacramento who are professional builders if you need someone with that side also.

Poor Monkeypoo! I have an aunt Edna who is 94 years old and looks just like a monkey. I would like to send her to you for keeps. She would be a wonderful start to a new monkey collection. I'll even include a case of bananas with this gift! Please take her.

Thanks. It's cool. I was just having one of those moments yesterday. I appreciate your offers. It happened out in North Carolina. Day after Xmas. It's a blessing actually. It was the final straw I needed to boost my butt out the borders of NC. I can think of a hundred good things that have come of it actually.

I'm home in California again with my new grandbaby & my daughter. This is HUGE. I didn't have to rent a UHaul, or pack up all that stuff, and drive the dang thing out here 3000 miles. What a savings! Plus, who wants to be seen at an event wearing last year's burner-wear anyway? It's sooooo un-Hollywood. :-P I get to start over. I can sew. My Sammi has a sewing machine and oodles of leopard print materials and fake neon fur she isn't using. There's freecycle dot org which is awesome here in the Sacto Valley. I love hunting down treasures in thrift stores too.

PLUS...and this was big for me to realize... I actually felt lighter, free-er after all that "stuff" burned up. I can't explain it. I once heard Suzie Orman say on TV that when you remove the clutter from your life, your spirit and body will feel lighter. And it's true. So now I'm being really careful when I do accumulate things again. The whole needs and wants kind of deal, ya know? Do I really need this, or is it a want? The fire made me somewhat more practical. It's all gonna be fine and good. I'm creative. The fire can't take that away from me. Best foot forward. Chin up.

I still cringe sometimes, but all this is just a lesson in acceptance. Things happen the way they are supposed to happen. I'm home again with my daughter and precious grandson.

When I hold that little feller and we look into each other's eyes, I have everything I absolutely need and want in life. **fuzzies**

(edited because I have to say one more thing I am oh-so grateful for...)

I AM ONLY 5 HOURS AWAY FROM BRC AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

5 HOURS!!!! THIS IS HUGE!!!!

**happy dance, happy dance**

Shit! Does this mean you're not taking Aunt Edna? I have her bags all packed and ready to go. I think I'll bring her to Burning Man this year and gift her to some unsuspecting virgin! :D

The above is a perfect example of "thread thievery"

I just wanna know if the above people, who's images are thrown around like clay pigeons, have had their shots?
