Register my RV with BM DMV?
I can not remember WHERE, but I think I read somewhere that anyone who is planning on bringing an RV has to let BM people know in advance so they can plan for how many RV sites? Is this true? and can someone tell me, (if it is true) who do I contact (with an email address plz)?
thanks
thanks
I believe the answer you need here is NO.
Unless you are with a registered theme camp you camp wherever you find a spot you like. If you are with a theme camp then arrangements with in the camp's assigned spot is camp business not BMorg business.
Here is a link to the RV page of the BM site.

It is part of the REQUIRED READING found here

The deadline for registering RV's has passed. All the full hook up spaces are taken. You will now have to "boondock it"!themerchantprincess wrote:I can not remember WHERE, but I think I read somewhere that anyone who is planning on bringing an RV has to let BM people know in advance so they can plan for how many RV sites? You may be recalling that anyone bringing a MV (mutant vehicle) has to register it and be approved. RV's have no such requirement (assuming you are going to park it at your camp and not desire to drive it around during the event)themerchantprincess wrote:I can not remember WHERE, but I think I read somewhere that anyone who is planning on bringing an RV has to let BM people know in advance so they can plan for how many RV sites? Be sure to consider your neighbors when choosing your location - no one likes a generator exhaust blowing into their camp (and if you do this you may find your tires are all flat when you wish to leave).
Also be sure to use the search function on Eplaya to look for RV threads to learn more (and there is a LOT more to learn if you are bringing an RV for the first time, especially if you are renting one)
welcome home!

On the plus side
If you do decorate the hell out of it (preferably by permanent alteration - sawzall and welder are your friend here), and register it by the deadline, you can drive it around the playa all week playing your crappy music loud as you'd like, picking up dirty smelly lazy burners, and taking them to the opposite side of the playa from where they'd like to go, for which they will thank you by spilling their beverages generously and hiding their drug stash where you won't find it but the Nevada cops will.
This years theme being "Evolution" I suggest you make your motorhome into the Galapagos islands. Complete with turtles and lots of bird crap.

Thanks everyone for your serious and ridiculous replies. I have spent MUCH time reading the PREP pages and that's where I thought I'd seen something like that. Guess I'll read it again. I've already reserved my RV and I'm planning the decorations. Besides a FUR-V....any other good ideas related to the evolution theme you can think of would be great. I have a couple of my own but always interested in others' ideas. Only serious replies please HA HA!
