I'm not sure you are correct. I think they are only 'place holders' for future posts that I have not made yet. Place holders do not count as posts.littleflower wrote:if it has your avatar, it's a post, not a non-post! your avatar makes any post special, even a blank one!
oh ... how do you do that?

When I was a kid I used to pray every night for a new bicycle.
Then I realized that the Lord doesn't work that way so I stole one and asked Him to forgive me

On the subject of evolution...
There are times when the previous generation was more acceptable than the current one (ie., evolution isn't always a good thing). Take for example mdmf -- the previous version (mdmf006) was much nicer and more socially accpetable; the current version (mdmf007) gained some flaws that weren't present before, namely nose picking and anti-social tendancies in the post world. Lets hope when mdmf008 arrives those undesirable traits have been removed!
(PS: if jk or mdmf ever change their avitars 1/2 the posts on this thread will make absolutely no sense to future generations (not that they make sense now))

Extreme pain can potentially cause 2 things that I can think of off-hand that can lead to an untimely demise (3 things if you count extreme pain causing a pt. to commit suicide). 1 is it can cause an elevated blood pressure which can cause a hemorrhagic stroke (or possibly even a pericardial tamponade) which can progress to the aforementioned bucket kicking, or it can exacerbate an already weakened/damaged heart leading to a big MI and/or fatal arrhythmia which I know all to well to be the end of game. So yes, in a sense and a round-about way, pain can precipitate early relief from taxes.gyre wrote:That isn't technically true.Sail Man wrote:Pain never killed anyone.![]()
Jeez Louise Gyre, gotta get technical with our rules of EMS eh?
Here's one thats pretty indisputable. IF you've worked EMS you know exactly what I'm talking about:
If the pt. vomits, try to hold the head to the side of the rig with the least difficult cleanable equipment.
Other options include NOT handing the pt the small emesis basin, give em the big one. If conscious sit the head end of the cot bolt upright so they don't aspirate and also leaves the front half of the pt compartment relatively clean, and lastly, point them towards the student
That concludes todays lesson. Tomorrow we'll talk about lower GI bleeds, and why they can make even the most experienced medics green with envy
Excuse me Ma'am, your going to feel a small prick.
