Metal wire 4 el wire work (& cheapest plug & play su

Post by Free2B » Thu Mar 19, 2009 4:41 pm

First project with El Wire, I don’t know what type of wire I can use to make the shape I'll wrapping in el-wire.. something I can bend by hand/minimal tools but something that will hold it's form under el-wire? I've been looking around, still could use a cheap suggestion for the actual El Wire, no soldering... ThankS!

How big of a shape do you need and how well protected will it be? Coat hangers would be about right for what you're doing, or bailing wire which you can get at a hardware store. You'll be able to bend it by hand or with plyers.

If you know the lengths you need most of the common suppliers will put connectors on it for you for a small fee.

Protected? not in the least :) but I dont need it to last that long.. it's maybe 2 pieces 3-4 feet each. I'm off to ask my hardware store... though coat hangers sounds.. 99c store-eassy :) thanks!

thanks, I came across them, now gotta check em out again for certain colors this one didn't have: http://www.elwirepros.com/ they stock up in may... offer a littel burner dicount. Seemed like a good price for the options, it was the only one that I found that actually put two colors on one plug n play. I found the wire Dork mentioned online, gotta go hunt it down :D
