well hello my name is...
greetings,
i have just discovered this e-playa thingy and it seems quite cool!
so 2009 will be my second burn. i had the most amazing time last year. i came home so inspired. i felt as if i was able to be my truest self at burning man. heaven on earth is where i can hula hoop, dance and do yoga for hours on end in the beauty of the desert with 50,000 other beautiful people.
the best part were the conversations i shared with others. it felt as if there was some barrier that was opened between beings. a big open space to connect and exchange.
i was blown away by the quality performances and art installations. all the work that went into putting the festival together inspired me to believe that anything is possible.
my world felt limitless...

Actually, that covers 100% of my welcomes. Why say more?--it's all been said before anyway and others will feel the need to repeat the info regardless. A simple welcome seems to be appropriate...lots of people don't even say hi. And like AntiM says...I do have my hands full! jeeze, please don't be kind, and funny, and welcome newcomers politely.
make up something new for everyone and keep it just as others want.
be sure to entertain everyone, all the time, and, please them with your actions...........
*Patting JK on the shoulder, appreciating his usually quick, polite, and succinct welcomes to newcomers*

Personally I really look forward to seeing JK welcoming the new comers. It is somewhat like a race for me to see if I can find a new comer before he does. I feel bad welcoming a newbie before he does so at times I sit back and wait for him before I make contact. I don't care where your hands have been JK I would shake hands with you any day.
A person without a sense of humor is like a wagon without springs. It's jolted by every pebble on the road.
Hi Hoopninjette,
Thanks for sharing some of your memories from last year - it sure inspires me as a first timer. I can't wait to develop my own.
And as for JK (don't mean to ruin his reputation...) but here is his recent post to my introduction... Thanks JK!

Continue spending time here reading past posts--most every thing a new person could ask has already been asked and answered here. "Search" is your friend.
Regional BM events is a good place to make acquaintances and possible find a camp that fits. Also, don't worry about going on your own--I hear it can be lots of fun too!

How did you score 4000+ posts, Ygmir....how did that happen? in three words?...The bar ???....
If only there was some way to alert yourself whenever a certain person posted, then maybe we could keep up by posting over them.
Not sure who really has the most posts....at face value it appears Fishy has it, but there are SEVERAL incarnations of certain people here, myself included....I think Kenetic8, I,II,III,IV,AndV might actually have more posts combined, but who's counting ???

We have an obligation to make space for everyone, we have no obligation to make that space pleasant.

I've gotten into a few "discussions", on several threads here, I suppose.............oneeyeddick wrote:How did you score 4000+ posts, Ygmir....how did that happen? in three words?...The bar ???....![]()

Anywhere from one word or pic "retorts" to half page diatribes and pontifications........as well as light hearted missives........
I'm sure many have many more posts, and, posts per day, considering socks and all..........
this is my one and only incarnation..............
I find this board very intellectually stimulating, such a variety of entertaining, knowledgeable, opinionated, kind, and full of bull shit folks.........
and,
very accepting and inclusive, as evidenced by my continued presents here and not being "banned".........
I thank you all........
