VIRGIN FROM SEATTLE HERE!!!!!

Post by Lady_Fantastic! » Thu Apr 02, 2009 11:54 am

I AM SO EXCITED! This is the first year that I am actually going to make it to the Burn! I have planned to go & have geared up the past 3 years but have hit various bumps in the road that have foiled my plans. grr!!! This year its happening, dammit!!

I live in Seattle (lower Queen Anne) and like to get DOWN! My existing community of fellow Burners here is great but I am always up for meeting new friends =) If anyone wants to party, would welcome an addition to their camp or has tips or first-timer advice LAY IT ON ME!!!

Keeping the spirit alive & well! =D

Im totally sharing your excitement! I've been once before and it was the time of my life, however, i think im going to embrace it more second time. I would say read all the survival guides, bring goggles! and trap yourself in a sand storm!

Before i went first time i asked a regular burner what it was like and he had the perfect reply...

"you cant explain it, its like explaining colour to a blind man, just embrace it"

Chris.

Check it out!!! Its a camping trip/arts/music festival for Pacific Northwest folks that takes place about a month prior to BM. TONS of fun!

Scotland has nothing that im aware of. We have a thing called 'wickerman' that alot of people say is 'scotlands burningman' but obviously they have never been to BM or they wouldnt say that.

I wish i could go to one of those Critical Massive type things. It seems alot of regions in the states have something like that.

Hey there Emily, welcome to EPlaya... My cousin is a fellow drum and bass DJ and burner who also lives in Seattle named Rob Noble. I know there are a lot of peepz from Washington at the burn every year, but I wonder if he is in this group from Seattle you speak of... Anyway, look forward to meeting ya, make sure you check out "The BUSH"!!!

Ha! Small world. I see Rob around and about on pretty much a weekly basis; he's one of the best in town - very, very cool guy too. I don't think he knows me by my playa name, but he'll know the 'guy in the black hat' who rarely misses any function at the Trancendent Church of Bass.

Well, small city :P~ Anyway, yeah Rob will be in BRC again this year (it'll be his 6th year I believe), him and his friends from WA do a camp every year, he's told me about some ideas he's had for this years burn... Would you believe I hadn't seen my cousin in years, and growing up apart and with no contact we both became Drum and Bass DJs and Burners!? Maybe some things are genetic... *shrug*

Anyway man any friend of Rob's is a friend of mine, make sure you stop by The BUSH and say hi!!

I'm there. Is he still doing MoonBass or something different? I think I first met him at a fundraiser for MB a couple/few years back.

No MB this year as far as I know... I don't want to give too much away just in case something changes or he wants to keep it secret, but he is doing a sort of community tea house / kitchen this year from what he has told me...
