Destiny Lounge 2009!

Destiny Lounge will return to the playa in 2009! Plans are just now starting to be discussed, but I imagine we'll be doing a lot of what we did this year, and I'm sure we'll find some ways to mix it up a little! We're a camp of about 25 folks, usually well placed, with a relaxed lounge and atmosphere, serving ice tea and lemonade by the gallon to the thirsty masses! I'm sure we'll have our fire spinning members and kick ass music once again next year, not to mention our jumbo games! We'll probably have some space in our group so if anyone would like to get in on the ground floor of planning for 2009, please drop me a note! Thanks!!

*BUMP* Here, let me blow the dust off this thread lest you all think we have curled up and died! No such luck!

Discussions have commenced for our camp for 2009 and we're gonna be back in style! We've got some good excited folks wanting to jump in and join us this year and it's already sounding like fun to me! Still not quite sure what new devilry we'll be bringing to the playa, but stay tuned!!! Drop me a note if you'd be interested in joining us! Thanks!!

Nothing like Ticket Day to wake people up and spur interest in seeking out a new camp! We've had a few inquiries since yesterday and its nice to hear from folks who'd like to have a Destiny Lounge experience this year! We are actively seeking participants for our camp for 2009 and greatly enjoy meeting new folks from all over! Like most small theme camps (under 25 people) we ask that potential members be interested in being an integral part of the camp from an operational standpoint... setup, camp hosts, teardown, etc. We are not an all night rave camp and generally operate from noonish to around 3am each day. Our DJ TGe is super stoked for this year and we're gonna have our comfy futon and couch filled lounge for the afternoon chill dances as we have the last couple of years! Lots of Iced Tea and Lemonade, and Rock Yer Balls is coming back for more!! If you're looking for a camp, check out our website and drop me a line if it looks interesting to you! Thanks!!

Destiny Lounge is having our first planning get together later this month (3/20 -22) out in Joshua Tree. If there are folks interested in being a part of our camp this year, drop me a note! Looking for folks interested in being a part of our group! Be forewarned... we do require participation!

I'm doing quite well! Have found myself sucked into the black hole of Facebook of late and spending less time here... I'll try to remedy that! And what pray tell were you discussing that involved me? My ears were indeed burning!!! By the way... a search on Facebook of Destiny Lounge will reveal results...

We had our first planning get together over the weekend a couple of weeks ago and a great time was had by all! Also got Rock Yer Balls reassembled so it can have some more upgrades and maintenance before its reappearance on the playa! We're getting a great crew put together already and I can hardly wait for August!!!

Another fine time this weekend as we get our plans in order for this year's Destiny Lounge! Should have a website update done in the next couple of weeks (I hope!)! Some good new faces and energy for this year! Is it August yet?

Are you excited about coming to Burning Man?

Do you relish the idea of being a part of a theme camp and feeling like you've helped create something unique on the playa?

Are you willing to roll up your sleeves and give it some effort towards that final goal?

Destiny Lounge still has some space and we could really use some gung-ho folks to help us put it all together (and take it all apart again)!

Also seeking a benevolent millionaire interested in blowing lots of money on frivolous theme camp type stuff... but that's sort of optional.

Been doing some upgrades to Rock Yer Balls and it feels stronger and smoother then ever! Hoping it will withstand the rigors of a week of playa abuse! We have a prep weekend lined up for next weekend to start getting stuff in order. Time is whizzing by!!

Hard to believe that just 5 weekends from now, we'll be on the playa setting up our camp! Excitedly anticipating the placement announcement coming soon! We're adding a couple of fire spinning events to the WWW for Tuesday and Thursday nights at 10pm! You won't want to miss it! We'll also be having some interactive art workshops during a couple of afternoons or evenings... still tbd on the details!

I'm pretty sure we'll have some exciting news in a week or so... at least for us! Can't wait!!!!

Glad to see you're returning. I stopped a couple of times to sit in the shade. Some of those boys were really wrenching on those control sticks..I hope you get a placement nearby the esplanada and ring road...

After a very long day, the truck and trailers are finally loaded and we are ready for our departure from Joshua Tree in the morning, heading to Reno! Hope to see all or at least most of you on the Playa!
