Welcome! Yakima eh? I left that town in 2000 and even though that's where my family still lives proud to say I never spend more than 48 hours there in a year.nightingale wrote:Yepper...going to be a Newbie Burner.

Well in retrospect Norm, I think you and I have mainly only seen the "harsh" parts of Yakima... *ahem* military *ahem*djnormanj wrote:Welcome to eplaya! I've been to Yakima a few times myself. Not a bad place, but always looked better in my rear view mirror.
Looking forward to seeing you at the burn!

Well, I've been out on the town there a few times as well as BBQ'd in the greener park areas and by the river. But yes, Yakima does have those dry and dusty hills as a backdrop. You know, I guess I just spend a lot of time in the dirt wherever I go. Hmmm...bx1 wrote:Well in retrospect Norm, I think you and I have mainly only seen the "harsh" parts of Yakima... *ahem* military *ahem*djnormanj wrote:Welcome to eplaya! Welcome Chickie!!!
I was born and raised in Washington... Been to Yakima more than I care to SAY!!! In fact last year, after seeing Jack Johnson at the Gorge, we drove thur Yakima a little LOSt on our way to Black Rock City!!!!
Napalm Demon we are more than likely cousins of some sort if the Family Homesteaded in Yakima!
Come and Hang With US in the 'Northwest Corridor' (thats the 8:30-9:45 last couple of rows) You'll reconize the area because of ALL the Washington, Alaska, Oregon & Canadian Car Lic. Plates Once and a while a Cali Group will sneak in the area- mostly they like the other SIDE of the PLAYA. LOL

When in Enumclaw, be sure to visit it's infamous "petting" zoo.
( I hate Enumclaw, it was my daily driving route as a courier for almost 4 years)
Yelm,Eatonville,Kapowsin,Buckley, them Enumclaw all the way up to Crystal resort....BORING(but pretty) drive.
Sucked big time during the winter.
