question about theme camp dimensions

I'm working on our theme camp layout.. We are requesting street/avenue placement by 9'oclock and according to the questionaire you must specify your top three choices in basically 50' increments for the frontage & depth.

So a couple drafts later, it is looking like 50x100 (5,000 sq ft) is too tight, and 100x100 (10,000 sq/ft) is too big leaving more empty space than I'd like (is that frowned upon or OK?). We really just need like 75x100, but it sounds like that is not a valid choice.

So right now we have a 50x150 layout that seems doable. Does that mean we'll have road on both sides if the blocks are only ~150 ft deep in this area?

You won't get both roads as frontage, you might get 100x 100. maybe less....or you might not get approved at all.
That is up to the people that approve theme camps, and they are not here right now.

Ask for what you need, I dont know where the 50' number came from but if you need 75x50 ask for it, if you need 75x100 ask for it. I've always felt it best to tell them exactly what we think we need, then let them put us into a category of their choice.

Then just be happy if you end up at 3 o clock with 50x50.

There is lots of politics in theme camp placement. Many camps have been doing this for years and years. You will have to have a great proposal for Esplanade placement. 9 o'clock has quite a few camps on it already - you may get placement past ESD at maybe d street if you insist on being on 9. bdeywoo: on the online placement questionaire you are told to specify your frontage and depth requests in 50' increments for avenue/street placement. There is a table that shows what the choices depending on the area you want to be in. That is where the 50' comes from.

We aren't looking for Esplanade placement.. Last year, we were back on D and that was just fine and further back is OK too. We just know some folks from Pancake / Mad Flava and a couple of our campmates volunteer there. We are just seeing if we can camp in the general vicinity of where they are.. We'll take whatever we can get.

I will just email placement and find out the scoop from the powers that be.
