In 2007 I organized a Theme Camp which was centered around eight or ten virgins that I personally recruited. It was a fabulous success, but most of them have not returned. NONE were sorry they went, but they felt that once was just right.
The main negative was the overly loud and monotonous music from all quarters. Sad, because those folks were all super contributors with interactive art, and gifting of their time and skills -- people who really "belong" at BM. (Which is why I went out of my way to recruit them.)
I feel the same way about electronic thumping (and heaven forbid, rap) myself, but I guess I'm more stubborn.
Seemed to me, 2008 had less of the deafening thumping and more variety in music. Which I liked.
To my mind, what BM "needs" the most, is strolling minstrels. Too bad I couldn't carry a tune if you lent me a bucket. I have high hopes for VeganChoirGirl.
Methinks we have a lot of old fogies on this thread simply because we older folks have learned to take an interest in long term trends, so we click on "return ratio". Being older, we dance a bit less, and think a bit more. No biggie, but threads like this one seem more interesting to old-timers than a thread where, say, a DJ is looking for venues to spin his platters.
One of the great things about BM is that people of all ages and backgrounds play together, and it happens perfectly naturally. For example, if I bump into an 18 year old with dreadlocks in the grocery store, odds are we will not have anything to talk about. But on the Playa, we have this entire BM culture in common and we are instantly pals with lots to share.
All right...
57, single straight male, first burn was 2006 -- don't expect I'll miss one until I die.

I'm a hundered and sixty three and I've been going to burning man ever since it was just a smoldering sperm and I'll keep on going as long as they let me walk around nekid and with my cocknballs wrapped up in el-wire snorting shitty cocaine out of my wifes saggy tits, you kids these days with your rap music,aw fiddlesticks!you snotty nosed pricks.quit cutting through my campsite!you wouldn't know what evolution was if it were painted on your face in peanut brittle!,dang-blasted tomfoolery!I was there,I saw it happen, when I was just a young buck floating around in the primordial stew with my little flagellum wagging around without a care in the world.those were the good old days.

Re: Half your age, eh?
Just so it isn't lopsided - I love to date older women, but normally only 1.5 times my age. Twice my age if they have a weak ticker and a BMW.VeganChoirGirl wrote: As for all you olders dating youngers....hot. I love to date older men, usually twice my age. Maybe I'll see you on the playa
