Is there something like a '70's camp??? This is more my time zone, though I like all the time zones so to speak.

What 70s?
SLA 70s?
Punk 70s?
Disco 70s/
Brady Bunch 70s?

Anyway, perhaps your best bet is going through the theme camp list from last year and seeing if you any move you. Then contact those and see if and under what circumstances they are accepting newbs.

I hear there was going to be a big 30s theme camp, but that they couldn't raise the money.

Black Rock Roller Disco, that was a cool camp. They had skates in various sizes and blasted disco music under some black lights.
