Need a hauler? Trying to arrange a load to B.R.C.
I've got over 2000lbs. of stuff, to haul to Burning Man this year...and, I'm trying to think of a way to convince my bosses, to let me use the truck, that I drive for them. So, I thought of getting several other groups, who need a "commercial" hauler together, might help us all out.
This is just to find out IF they will go for it!..so don't get your hopes up. But anyone who replies, with a serious job, will be first to go..if my company agrees...and the cost is good for y'all.
I'd be pulling a 53 foot trailer, with about a 40'000lb. load capacity. Like I said, my gear is over 2'000 lbs, but would take up about 6 feet of the trailer. Inside width of the trailer is 100 inches and height is about 8 to 9 foot..I'll measure, cause I'm not sure. It's a dry van, not a reefer, so any meats produce or dead bodies need to be hauled on your own.
If interested, P.M. me with your projected space needs..ie: linear foot needs, by 100inches. And give me a semi accurate weight prediction. Can it be unloaded by forklift? I don't remember any loading docks on the playa..
I am NOT doing this for my company or commission!! I just need to haul 275 gallons up for my hot tub... plus my camp..which is sitting on my bedroom floor..so very minimal. I will be paying my share of the cost, so don't think I'm pulling a scam. :)
I will be their from monday to monday..but can come up early if you put me on early arrival..but otherwise, those are the days I'm planning.

TomServo: Have you seen this thread about maintaining a hot tub on the Playa?

FLETCHER: We miss you on you post about getting 2k gallons of water to the Playa
Both of you: Consider camping in Reno the night before and filling the water tanks there. 2275 gallons of water weighs about 19, 000 pounds. Most campgrounds have faucets to fill your RV. We filled all our water containers in Fallon, NV. US 395 & US 8 were easier climb with empty tanks.

I have a couple of questions.
1. Where is Benecia, CA? (I'm assuming that's where you are?)
2. How are you anticipating people getting their cargo to your truck--or better yet, your truck to their cargo?
3. When are you planning on arriving at BM?
4. How are you anticipating people retrieve their cargo from your truck at BM?
5. How are you anticipating people get their cargo to your truck at BM for the trip back?
6. When are you planning on leaving BM?
7. How are you anticipating people retrieve their cargo once back home?
8. How are you planning on charging? Weight? Square Foot? Other?

Then I realized that the Lord doesn't work that way so I stole one and asked Him to forgive me

Benicia is in Solano county, across from Contra Costa and the C&H sugar factory. Somewhere further north is Vallejo and the 6FlagsLetsTortureNanimals theme park. Benecia is a minor glass center.

To Fletcher: 2000 gallons is no problem to haul, however, in a dry van it would need to be stored in 55 gallon Drums..about 36plus drums. A Water Truck would be better, and I'm considering renting one out of Reno. Their is a guy who hauls potable water to the playa, but I've yet to hear who he is and what he charges.
To BurningJim: I read that thread, and thanx. The filter is my biggest worry..so Im taking steps to keep it going.
To jkisha: I apologize, for not mentioning my location.
1. Benicia is in the north bay area..near Richmond, Vallejo, Napa and Fairfield.
2.That would have to be arranged..using either smaller trucks or a direct pick-up if possible.
3. Like I said monday...opening day..unless someone needs me earlier.
4. Arranging a drop off point and time..even if it's at their location.
5.Arranging a pick-up point and time..even if it's at their location.
6.Like I said, Im leaving monday..the day after the temple burn if we have one this year
7. Return deliveries need to be arranged...unless the load is burned.
8. I was torn by this dilemma before I even posted..but decided on square footage.. not cubic!
Ive spoken with my boss, and it is possible, but he promises it to be expensive. He failed to put "expensive" in dollar amounts..but I'm going to try and get one from him.
Our tankers have a 3" spigot and hoses..not sure how fast they deliver..but hell of alot faster than 5 gallons per minute
