hostel in San Francisco?

Post by dubovitch » Wed Apr 15, 2009 5:58 am

hi, i'm a french virgin burner, and i need some advice.

My plane will land the 28th august in San Francisco. I'm looking for a cheap place for waiting the beginning of the festival.
Someone told me about "hostel". If i'd all understand it's a kind of hotel, but with collective room.
So, is there a hostel where there is a lot of burners?
I don't know San Francisco, is there some place unsafe places in witch i shouldn't book a hostel?

If someone had a better idea than hostel, do not hesitate to propose!

Thanxs a lot

Here's an option http://www.couchsurfing.com/. I think there are some people on eplaya that are registered with that site.

This company http://www.greentortoise.com/ lists a hostel on their website--and better yet, the offer a tour/trip to BM as well.

Ooops...I fucked up. I saw that he had 5 posts and somehow didn't notice he posted in the Intro section. But...now that you have pointed out the error of my ways, it's never too late...

Thank you JK I feel so much better now Welcome dubovitch. I agree with JK couchsurfing may be the best way to go. See ya in the dust, oh and be sure to bring out some bacon.

You can always do a google search on "san francisco hostel." I'm guessing that August is a busy time of year, and that lots of Europeans will be in those hostels, so book now if you can. Or couch surf.

They also have a place in seattle and do a bus to and from Burningman.

I recommended staying out of the Tenderloin Unless you like crack heads and heroin addicts

thxs for all your tips.

i will chek on couch surfing.

For the unsafe area in San Francisco, someone told me that Tenderloin, western addition, and a part of mission was not fully secure....

Yeah. Also avoid Hunter's Point.

I had an excellent stay at the Green Tortoise hostel. They even had organized a group Pub Crawl!
