Will Gift Ticket For Help

Post by zorro sings » Sat Apr 11, 2009 6:00 pm

The co-founders of Club Verboten are making plans for their 10th year at The Project with some questions. We will likely lose, for this year, two very valuable campers.Although neither has been with us longer than 3-4 years we always end the week wondering how we ever got along without them.Of the many contributions they made two positions are of some concern to the Revolutionary and Institutional Council heading by President A'Vie Omar Suarez.

We are hoping to fill at least one of the spots through revolutionary compensation errr.... gifting and hope we both benefit. So a free ticket for anyone who feels they could fill one or,Inshallah, both of our needs.

Transportation Geschefsfurher-Responsible for driving 17' supply truck to BRC,towing our super secured MV safely behind.Oh and you have to do it all again coming back with a stop at Reno dump as bonus..Physically fit enough to help set up The Peoples Tent which is a fairly soft two hour job.Must be ready to go on Saturday the 29th.

Alcohol Redistribution Director-.Take control of serving platform(bar). No mixology degeee needed as we just hand out the beer(s) of the day or our always popular wine coolers straight from the coolers. However due to the heroic efforts of Comrade Guido Verboten acquired a sterling reputation as a place where the drinks, though pedestrian, were ALWAYS cold.Drinks packed in ice 4-5 hours beforehand was his signature show of respect to The BRC Popular Masses.Actual bartending duties optional nights.Must be engaging personality and like the music we play.Needed by Tuesday the first.

Verboten is a small dance camp.Self sufficient, experienced.Good parties and location. Possible DJ gig(s) as further inducement.Any questions or more camp info please use eplaya message system. thanks.

Thank you most trusted comrade.Your forthright and candid words on this forum are an inspiration to fair minded Peoples throughout the community.Your unfortunate encounter with the downside of so called Western Efficiency and your resolute attitude since is an example His Excellency is in awe of.
We may still have been a part of your group if only the name was something other than"Terminal".It is anathema to us as it violates Official State Philosophy #3, that of Cynical Optimisim.

Take Care Omar

regarding driving: Where is the origination point for this little trip?

re: alcohol duties: do you need this person for for the entire week/ shifts?? What type of music do you folks spin?
I'm in Reno, but am willing to help, and a free ticket while a bonus, not a requirement on my part as I'm going anyway...

Yes thanks should have mentioned this.We are a Reno based camp so all modalities are in place for a hitch free and smooth transfer of gifts.

re: alcohol duties: do you need this person for for the entire week/ shifts?? What type of music do you folks spin?

This is much less important to us than the first task. This is actually a fun job that we can probably fill in house or eliminate if forced by circumstances to do so.Would take a committed and very enthusiastic person to do it right.

We play retro-avant guard(mostly) techno based stuff. Each night different genre.Last year Depeche Mode(7th year!)Daft Punk etc. This years schedule still being formulated although DM will be back as well as UK Glam. thanks omar

so..what kind of help you looking for... is your camp full?
right now our plan is... friend who introduced me to bm is a native nevadan who's been going on odd years for ever...is going this year.... we don't need anything like place/food/booze.....just looking to be near cool burners......wife may come..hopefully and a virgin from Missouri.....

Are you still looking for a driver and helper for early setup?

How early can we get in? Fri? Sat?

As I recall its easier to get themecamp setup early arrival on Fri and the weekend passes are harder to get.

Are you gonna stay late for playa cleanup like until Monday or Tues?

Are you willing to pick someone up from the Reno airport and drop em off and allow for a one stop shopping trip for food and water at the Trader Joes/Wal-Marx site in Reno?

Are you still setting up near the 3oclock plaza?

As long as the vehicle doesn't require a CDL I can handle the drive. I'm a decent and safe driver and good at maintenance so the pre-flight inspection will be done right. I have PLENTY of free time so early arrival and late departure isn't a problem. I can help with domes and tents a little but still have RSD issues with my foot/toe so I gotta watch heavy lifting and standing for long periods of time. I could handle the drink service as well so you'd get 2 jobs filled for the gift of one.

Let me know if you still have the job open. I am seriously interested and very motivated. :)

Comrade Toolmaker,Thanks very much for your offer. It is appreciated along with the others who contacted us.Verboten received glorious news just this morning that one of our key cogs had his new job fall through and will be joining us after all. This takes care of our problems. However if you still need some logistical help in Reno let us know and we would be happy to help.

Glad to hear you got a driver to get your stuff and vehicle to BRC. What kind of MV do you have? Care to share a pic? I can't recall it off the top of my head so I think it might be one I've missed.

If the logistical help involves someone to host me and get me to and from BRC with a shopping stop than yes I'm down. I only have 2 duffels worth of camp. Thats my big hurdle right now. I have someone who offered an anonymous ticket and can swing my plane and food/water needs. I just can't afford to rent a car n stuff with manufacturing being in the toilet this year. I might still be able to swing themecamp and snag and early entry.. I like to spend as much time on playa as possible.

Toolmaker IF you really want to get on the playa early apply NOW, put your application in and Volunteer for something.
Airport is FUN and so IS Greeting or even work in the Mess Hall and they feed ya all week.
Don't count on joining a theme camp and getting in early 'cause even LARGE Theme camps are only allowed a couple of people in early...
IF you Do get in early REmember to check with your PLACER before setting up camp (they are very weird about this) Its HARD to get an early pass SOOOO YOU better be ON IT NOW!!!
Very Limited number of people on the PlAya early~ and EVERYONE is HARD AT WORK. NO PLAY TIME!!! (well, there is ALways play time on Playa)
WEAR GLOVES from the moment you get there... 'cause your think your hands take a beating after a week on playa try 10 days of the stuff.
If I were to wish ANYTHING I'd wish I were ME!!

Been in early before.. I know its work no matter what capacity you work be it themecamp or infrastructure. I've always wanted to do a Greeters shift so maybe I'll get off my ass and do one. I promised Robbi that if I make it this year I'll do at least one porta pottie shift. Someone has to do it right? I got some decent gloves.. being a machinist/toolmaker/welder I keep large varieties of gloves about.

As far as the early arrival deal I know they are always changing crap.. and always creating a new problem with each evolution. In 2007 it was easier to get in for setup and work before Fri/Sat/Sun. Why I don't know but it didn't matter anyway since the list was fucked and many were delayed entry until LATE LATE. I think we all remember the new and interesting issues with last year.. all those scares about not knowing until last minute if you were approved or not. I'm not sure if folks actually didn't get passes they were promised but I seem to recall some ppl gettin screwed with the new system. I didn't get in early last year, I wasn't in the condition to anyway being in the chair and all. I was lucky to have made it at all last minute with a "retail" ticket.

For those reading Barbie is on point. While you may get to enjoy a little time in early you will be working in some capacity. It always amazes me how some folks can put in so much hard work in the heat getting our community built and all the work that goes into making it disappear at weeks end. Maybe someday I will have my RSD in check enough to do some welding out there or something a little more intensive than shade/dome setup.

Thanks for the reminder Barbie.. theres alot of options open for someone like me (alterabled as unjon would say).

I JUST got done filling out the colunteer questionaire. HAHA I had to pick 4 different depts. I picked PG&E, DMV, Greeters, and Earth Guardians (dog forbid). Maybe I'll be lucky and spend 2 weeks on playa and get to spend time with all of em. I think if you spend enough shifts you get some extras and a gift for the next year.

Now if only I can get this ride and ticket issue resolved. Good news is there is someone local that may be able to co-op a drive with me.. I'm trying to pursue this and/or do a rideshare through Reno. With someone sharing gas to and from FL it sort of breaks even with the plane cost AND I get to bring more shit!!! Maybe even a flamethrower if I can find all the bits to put it together in the shop. I'm pretty sure I got all the plumbing somewhere.. even if I have to take a ball valve off a down cnc machine.

Just want to be sure you know that the tape in question is duct tape. I don't know if that makes any difference to your gun, but we are not permitted to put anything on the JotS except with duct tape and cable ties.
