Song that played during 2008 exodus (Sunday) on BMIR

Post by rdubbs » Mon Mar 16, 2009 5:21 pm

Does anyone know the song that was played on BMIR on Sunday midday during exodus?

The DJ kept trying to play it, and wasn't able to get it working for 2-3 songs before it played. I think it was called two's company, or maybe by a band called two's company.

I unfortunately do not remember the exact lyrics of the song, but the overall message was somethign to the extent of "enjoy the time we have now, because we may never all be together here again"

It really meant alot for me, and my burn experience. If anyone has any ideas or clues as to what this song is called and who it was performed by it would be greatly appreciated...

thanks for the reply, but nope. It is a very calm song as I remember. The DJ talked about how he felt it was appropriate for the moment, and it was. Definately not an extremely popular song, not by a mainstream band like green day, at least i am pretty sure.

Thanks for the reply tho

Any other guesses? Its killing me, and theres nothing like not being able to hear a song you really want to hear. Especially for half a year. Thanks any replies in advance

Come and knock on our door.....
We've been waiting for you......
Where the kisses are hers and hers and his,
Three's company too.

Come and dance on on our floor......
Take a step that is new.....
We've a loveable space that needs your face,
Three's company too.

You'll see that life is a frolic and laughter is calling for you......
Down at our rendez-vous,
Three's company, too!!!!!!
We have an obligation to make space for everyone, we have no obligation to make that space pleasant.

I havent tried asking on Tribe.

I attempted to join so that hopefully I could, but unfortunately I was denied access to the Burning Man group.

Is there anyone out there that could post my original question (stated above) on there and post a link to the thread?

It would really be appreciated. If you have ever had hint traces of a song stuck in your head for a long time you know how devastating this can be, especially after several months have gone by.

Thanks everyone for your input and help

Everyone that newly joined to tribe gets denied access to the Burningman tribe. It's how they keep off socks. Wait a week, get a couple of friends and join a few other tribe and it will be no problem.

Tribe is an elitist forum. You have to suck the moderator at BM the year before to get in!

Other then that its a commercial for profit site sucking the teats of BM

you mentioned this song being important to your burn experience. It was important to mine as well as much of that set played that sunny day...

The DJ was doing great at summing things up. (I could be wrong but I think it was DJ APOLLO).

So here is my story about the tune........

I was taking one last bike ride through the city... I like heading out to the southern trash fence it is so empty out that way...

On my way back I was winding through the streets back toward my tent in center camp and looking at the entire city packing up and getting ready to leave. The song you mentioned came on loudly on a radio outside of someones camp... and the CD was skippng but the first 20 seconds or so of that song excited me! The tone of the singers voice perfectly conveyed the feeling of the place I was in. The DJ mentioned they would try it again in a few minutes.

I got home back to my tent and turned on the radio and not too long later the song came on again... And it was great! I savorued the moment and it was truly a good thing!

some other songs were played in that set which were great... even better with the commentary of the DJ..

The song stuck in my head and I looked around for it unable to find it..i couldnt quite get the lyrics..

Imagine my surprise when I was listening to a internet stream rebroadcast of BMIR when I was taking part in the Second Life BURNING LIFE "regional" event... and heard that song...

Now I can share it with you!

I just have to laugh, because my chosen families are overlapping here.... Avalon Rising, in addition to being Bay Area-based, are regular performers at the science fiction convention for which I volunteer. They won't be here this year (Stoph, the frontman, and Margaret, the lovely redhead, have a family event to attend), but the next time I see them somewhere I'll have to share this story.
