I started bringing it up and thats when I got put on the Oxycontin. Seems as though I would still have "phantom" sensations and the amputation won't do squat to stop the signals. I may have to have an amputation down the road but its highly doubtful. It is my understanding that with my RSD/CRPS being so localized to the toe and forefoot that I will likely not have to worry about getting a prothetic and whatnot. Its the kind of nerve condition one has to just learn to live with and hope for the best. Everyone wants me to get on SSI but I can't stomach not working doing something.

True.

People are freaks that way. SSI is basically agreeing to be poor for the rest of your life; not a pretty picture if you can avoid it. I think that some of it comes from people not really being ablt to get thier minds around the fact that disability is totally normal.

Misfit, not sure if your being sarcastic here or offering a viable solution. :?

Not being at all familiar with this nerve condition I wonder if that would accomplish anything or if it would just make the pain move up the nerve a bit, not to mention phantom pains. FWIW I broke my big toe once, and learned just what a roll the big toe plays in walking. Has Botox been discussed for treatment yet?
Excuse me Ma'am, your going to feel a small prick.
