Burning Man Virgin!

Post by FeariePrincess » Mon May 04, 2009 11:30 am

Hey everyone!
So I've been looking into burning man since I was 15 years old, I'm now twenty years old and married. I still have not had the chance or money to go. But now that I've got someone to go with me, who is also a virgin && has never ever heard of burning man, we will be able to get a chance to go. He is currently in iraq, so we can't go to the 2009 burning man, but hopefully we'll be able to go to 2010 one!

I'm looking forward to when we do go. We'll be flying or driving, depends on if we get our truck by than, to Black rock! I've been reading for years I need to know from a personal experience what to expect and how to prepare. I'm pretty much prepared I'm just trying to explain to my husband who is just getting into expressing himself freely and to not be afraid of it and others way of expression.

xoxo

Since you are waiting so long for the BM trip, you might consider attending a regional burn. There is one in October, about a couple hundred miles from your town. Northwest Georgia. http://alchemyfestival.com/
It ain't the big burn, but you can get a little taste of the burner
thing for a small investment of time and money, and make some
connections for your trip to That Thing In The Desert.

FeariePrincess, welcome to eplaya. Its good to prepare for the burn such as you are but make sure that your not forcing ur husband to go just because u want him to go, make sure he understands what it is, and for dogs sake, give him some time to chill before he trades one desert for another. At least let him take a nice shower in between :D
Excuse me Ma'am, your going to feel a small prick.

I love virgin burners. It makes me wanna welcome them with a loving embracing hug and a swift loving smack on their ass with my paddle. Don't be scared! No! No! No! It's tradition! :P

Plus, I get more out of spanking y'all than you could ever imagine.

Thanks Everyone!
I'll defiantly look into the regional burn
I really don't like the area hear just cuz I'm orignially from cali
I'm not going to force my husband, I'll give him a bit of course
I just am trying to get him to look into it cuz I know he would
probably love it as much as I would. I'm really trying to get him
to loosen up a bit. He's been very uptight since we moved.
But thanks again for everyones welcome & supoort

You don't anmd shouldn't wait for someone else togo. Don't put any year you can go off till next year. I'll NEVER get my wife to go.. unless MAYBE I have some super cushy modified bus with A/C. And even than.. shes not as screwy as I am. I don't think she could handle the noise 24/7 so its best she stays home.

Burning Man might be exactly what's needed to coax him out of his shell or it could be sensory overload. He must be sincerely willing to go and explore on his own terms. I was in the service - my IRR expired on 1 January of this year. I was a member of the USAF Honor Guard out of Washington DC. I had the somber duty of performing ceremonies at Arlington Nat'l Cemetary. Prior to the Honor Guard, I was part of an F16 unit which was deployed to both Iraq and Afghanistan. It would be an insult for me to explain to you the stresses our servicemen are under. I think you're on the right track - you've planted the seed - but for him to enjoy the event, he's got to be open to experiencing it. This, of course, coming from a virgin! I've been toying with the idea for years and was never really sure if it was "my sort of thing." This year, it hit me like a ton of bricks! So irregardless of his going or not, give him a "HOOOA!" from me and thank him for his service and I thank you for being the loving wife of a man in uniform!

Yeah you shouldn't force anyone, but there are alot of burners currently in Iraq right now, and we can't wait for Burning Man this year...

I'm one of them... As are 2 of my other campmates. We are having to do 99% of our planning in Iraq because we don't get back until early August. But yeah anyway back to the main point... Where exactly is your husband located in Iraq (if you don't mind me asking)?

Fearie, the Burningman experience is sometimes really rough on relationships. You should prepare yourself for that.
