Grew up a few blocks from the Haight in the 1950s/60s. The Beatniks were cute. The Hippies, not so cute.

Obviously Oneyeddick, or whatever his name is, makes himself feel better by discounting anyone else's thoughts on a matter in a smug and insulting way. I've noticed in some of his other postings that he really does feel that he KNOWS IT ALL........

Then you know that the junkies were not hippies, they were junkies. The hippies moved north of the bay in the late '60s

Ahhh, so you are a hippie? That makes sense now that I think about it.

oh, and Shari... I found it "hard" to sleep on my stomach after watching her..

This was the only clip I could find of a young and very hot Shari Lewis

There was also a place out on Geary called the Longshoremens Hall, lots of good concerts there. That's where I went to a Led Zepplin concert and blew my right ear drum, they were very loud. To this day my right ear gives me lots of trouble, but you know, in those days, the louder the better.....

The Longshoremen's Hall is out at Beach & Mason near Pier 45. You're either thinking the Winterland Ballroom or the Fillmore Auditorium. And Quicksilver was louder than Led Zep.

Out of state, farm out, sock it to ME?

1964 Ford Falcon 4-door to Zellerbach at Berkley, Freeborn at Davis, Cowpalace in the City. Yeah, I was a weekend gawker in the Haight but I was in the Experimental Freshman Program at Lincoln Hall in Davis. We were co-ed! We were happening. We did "Hair". We didn't have a clue...

I'm 58 years old today, just a number; No cake, no candles, no family.

Matinee movie on bargain Tuesday, a box of Ho-Ho's, and a couple of cans of Pepsi was how I consumed my birth anniversary.

I put my AC in the front room. I brought my flats, and my chili can garden, in out of the heat. A taste of box wine, a smoke and a pat on my pups head, and a sit-down in front of the 'puter rounds out my day.
