A few years back, Joan Baez was at Burning Man and I almost got the chance to meet her. I hope you all (y'all) enjoy this wonderful song from a fellow burner.

I thought up a long, insightful, and profound philosophical post to place here while at work today..., but completely forgot it while watching videos on YouTube after I got home.

Note to self: Make sure BAS always has youtube available. Some people should just not be allowed to wax long, insightful and philosophical.

That won't always work-- sometimes those long, insightful, philosophical rants, er, works of art are inspired by YouTube (and/or Wikipedia, and/or other stuff on the Internet.)

Okay, I confess-- I let myself get obsessed by trying to figure out the storyline of the Final Fantasy VII series-- without ever actually trying to play the games! (For starters, I am not very good at video games, and for another, I actually DO need to leave time for work, sleeping, and other such trivial things! ) The folks who make the Final Fantasy games always seem to come up with really complex backgrounds and stories, then scatter them across their games... Additionally, Japan has a very different culture than the U.S., so the symbolism is different-- and I think the game designers have come up with some of their own! Plus, uh, the artwork is really pretty...!

Eh, I had better go get some caffeine in me as well as some food. We've got an ungodly number of dorms to get clean today... The university has guests arriving for conferences as I type.
