Admittedly, it took a wee bit of imagination to picture our collection of RVs as an actual "roadside Motel" but it did make for a nice daytime space:

It was bloody expensive, but the sno cone machine we brought went over really well we thought. Thankfully we had lots of people gifting ice to us or volunteering to run and get some. Now that we have the machine, it should be a lot easier to bring it again this year, will just need a couple of hundred dollars with of syrup.
We put out a call for DJs here on E-playa, got a few responses, but I don't think anyone that said they'd come spin ever actually showed up. As it turned out though, some actual professional DJs wandered over and offered to spin AND they set up a bike repair station too. Not only were they fantastic DJs, but the bike repair tent was an instant hit. That and they put up with a bunch of gay guys hitting on them, in front of their gfs! I don't think we got any contact info but if you see this, please come set up your repair stand again this year guys, you were great!

We were not really sure where to camp but we planned to try to get a space near Comfort and Joy and that turned out to be a fantastic idea. We managed to grab a space across the road from them where a camp that never showed up was supposed to be. We are going to actually register this year and request to be put near them again. We'd also love if we could be next to some of the same neighbors again, especially the group with the tramp-0-lean! If you are coming again this year request to be near us!

This year, we plan to add a "roadside attraction". Our friend Sarah (AKA Angry Butterfly) makes these mutant animals. They are these little stuffed plush animals that she's ripped apart and put back together in odd ways.
The idea is to put up "road signs" that hype this AMAZING collection of Mutant Animals, FREAKS OF NATURE!! You'll be shocked and amazed! Evolution run amok! Once in a lifetime experience! (And since you've stopped, stay at our Motel!) We plan to make a bunch of the mutated stuffed animals and put them in yaffa blocks inside a tent - probably a hexayurt.
So thats what we have planned for this year. We didn't have the greatest luck connecting with people online before the burn last year thru here, but you never know. If there's any folks in the SF Bay area that think they might want to join up with us, send me a message. We could especially use some help with:
