Critical Tits and Deep End
Critical Tits and Deep End
My 2 favorite activities/themes...Critical Tits and the Deep End. Are both now dead? Maybe the Critical Tits ride, but no after party? Anybody organizing CT this year? Last year was awful for riding but this year seems okay by all the reports.
But deep End is bye bye????? I so loved that chill spot....without Critical Tits party and the Deep end what is left of Burning Man? Is it just going to be a Disneyland bereft of radicalism????
Ouch!

that's exactly right: because deep end won't be there its now a complete creative wasteland. unlike when deep end WAS there, and the playa was still a complete literal wasteland. i thought it was the barren wasteland that we all went out there for, and that party's cropped up on their own.
things change, that's what this year is all about. there will always be more volunteers and badass sound systems, new theme camps, new things you get to experience, and things you fondly remember that wont happen again. evolution's a bitch. besides, i'm sure root society or someone would love to manage the CT afterparty. who can say no to thousands of naked tits?

CT and Deep end
I guess you are right..BM is evolving...I just hope for the better? I believe I remember one year there was no CT afterparty...but there will always be good music...just nit the feeling of the Deep end.

CT and DE
Yes! I am counting on seeing something different. Absolutely will see something new this year as I've seen something new EVERY year! Every year has been vastly different than the previous year.
Granted...but some experiences (CT and DE) are so wonderful I just want them to go on forever...just a major draw...like the Contessa (miss that ship too).
I just think the economy, the dot-com bust etc. are making people scale back...but I am looking forward to this year. It will be different than last year...yes...not better or worse for me....just different....

if BM is one of the best parties in the world,
and Deep End was one of the best parties at BM...
then Deep End was one of the single sickest parties on the planet...
and will be missed

i find it interesting the different perspectives and kurosawa like interpretations of events that happened on the playa.
the history of burningman when it is finally written down will be quite varied and contentious even though we theoretically all saw the same thing.
or didnt.
what amazes me year after year is the synchronistic meetings of people who for all intents and purposes and mathematical improbability should not, but as they are walking along minding their own business on the open playa, right then, the person they are thinking of comes up from behind them to say "Hi"
fucks my shit up every year.

Yep, i was there. Nothing better than chillin' on their nasty couches, listening to some downtempo eating grilled cheese looking at porn.Simon of the Playa wrote:last time bianca was on the playa was in 98'....esplanade frontage, all the way on the end of the soft and fluffy zone, we were right behind them.
were you there?
I remember after they quit building Biancas, they sent out a few people the following year to pass out grilled cheeses anyways.
Biancas was the best place around to ride out duststorms.

except when their pvc and tarp enclosure that was their "camp" came down in the mighty windstorm before the rain.
we watched helplessly as we were all holding on to our own tent poles for dear life just to prevent our shade structure from parasailing across playa to disturbia.
remember space station zebra or zero? it had palm trees and a pool, it was down on that end too.
but by far ans away, bianca had some of the best music on the playa. it just seemed to always catch the right groove.
hello to Grady, he's the only name i can remember from the camp, but if he's reading this, thanks for helping to make my burn that year.

werent they the ones at the two oclock corner with the real sod and the misters?
tropical plants etc etc...
if i remember correctly they got toasted (i mean WAY TOASTED, absolutely flattened....which is word to the wise....right angles on the playa better be supported REAL well, or else....) on thurs. or friday by a wildcat dust devil and the lust monkeys turned into dust monkeys as they were forced to survive the remaining days living out of their truck.
but it was indeed, quite beautiful and so refreshing to walk into after a hot day on the playa.
