maybe im missing something

why the hate on hippies. Im 25 and i respect the people who started saying "why should live the way YOU want me to?" As far as i am concerned even though hippies are not perfect. They started independent thinking in society. Whats more patriotic than that?

My guess as to why some people are so judgmental about BM is the same as for why people are so judgmental about anything that they don't really know anything about: they have to make themselves feel superior, possibly to make up for the very ignorance it is based on. If you can get away without caring about what they think, not caring what they think is probably the best course of action. Good luck.

Oh, I just remembered and wanted to come back and edit the post, the manson family people all wore knives on their belts, even the chicks. so that is part of what made them NOT hippie..

ok check this out, this is my cousin Patrick, who looks exactly like me except for the obvious, he's hairy and doesn't really work because he's an "Artist".

we used to go out as Jekyl and Hyde on halloween, and for some reason, he used to get all the catholic girls who want to fuck jesus, and i'd get all the Waspy girls who want to Blow Satan.

is it that thin a line, with just a slight push in either direction, could i be a hippy and visa versa, would my cousin finally cut his mop after god knows how many years and put on a suit?

it's more than just a little disturbing, to think i could be that close to not bathing regularly and keeping my hair from the shower for the past 20 years in a giant ball in a box under my bed.

and the thought of my gentle cousin playing with explosives and shooting old pick up trucks with a 50 caliber elephant gun while listening to happy hardore is just too much for my mind to grasp.
