Goggles over glasses
Goggles over glasses
I did a quick google search for this, and found there was more to be found than I thought.
But what I really want to know, is a particular model or brand you might have used on the playa that fit well over glasses.
I have no experience in the matter, so I'm hoping to get some answers from you old seasoned veterans...
EDIT:
Also, do split lens make any difference? For some reason, I think that would bother me.

God Please, don't make me make myself look like a moron...
I use Bacou-Dalloz safety glasses.
Make sure you have a good fit before you head out there.

Many people use paintball masks, ski masks and so on.
I saw someone who had used good weatherstripping around their glasses and that worked and looked very good in a steampunk sort of way.
But glasses can get sandblasted by the dust.
Comfortable goggles are the most important thing to bring.

I have those long rectangular glasses and it was pretty hard for me to actually find a pair that fit over them last year. Don't be fooled by online ads that say that work over all glasses, because we bought a pair that didn't work at all and had to send them back. Finally I settled on these: http://www.vtarmynavy.com/sun-wind--dust-goggles.htm
They worked really well. Just went and bought some cheap paint to spruce them up and it was all gravy baby. XD

I got the Buzzard model and they worked great for over my glasses you can change the lenses as well. Only problem, and slight at that, is they are vented with little slits, I didnt have a problem with them at all though

Re: Goggles over glasses
I'm sorry to say it depends on your glasses. If you have wire frames, many goggles will fit snugly around the wire and still seal at the temple. If you have big plastic frames (a la Michael Caine in "The Ipcress File"), you won't get a snug fit.Turnip wrote: that fit well over glasses.
Best to drop by an army surplus store or ski shop and try out a few styles with your glasses.

Michael Caine!...Ipcress File! You ARE an old fucker! Me, too 'cause I remember that movie, too.phil wrote: If you have big plastic frames (a la Michael Caine in "The Ipcress File"), you won't get a snug fit.
Don't bore your friends with all your troubles. Tell your enemies instead, for they will delight in hearing about them.
I got lucky, and found a pair of off roading goggles on a discount table at a Home Despot, and they worked perfectly. I think that the brand name was Bulldog, or some similar name. (I really should try to find where I put them, in case I need them some day soon.)

No. Dragonpilot was kidnapped in the late eighties and they kept him docile with a constant feed of crappy old movies.dragonpilot wrote:Michael Caine!...Ipcress File! You ARE an old fucker!
