Circus Jerk Comes Alive

Post by GoatWeedy » Sun May 24, 2009 12:18 pm

Hey all y'all fabulous and frightening burners! My buddy Monkey Boy and I (GoatWeedy) are bringing our circus tent to the playa and inviting like-minded souls to hang with us good clean/dirty fun, inner work, wicked art and blood-stirring performance.

We are, and are looking for, artists, musicians, performers, and individuals with creative passion who want to promote gay spirit, which we believe encompasses a variety of sexual passions and psychologies. We support joy, exploration, creativity, collaboration, and the effort to integrate Light and Shadow. If you've got an idea (performance, classes, workshops, meditations, etc.), let us know and we'll see what magic we can conjure together.

BTW, we're both 4x burners, who are very excited to get back to the playa this year. Just posted a website which we'll be adding to between now and the burn. www.circusjerk.com

Hey there, welcome to eplaya!

When I was a kid I used to pray every night for a new bicycle.
Then I realized that the Lord doesn't work that way so I stole one and asked Him to forgive me

Thanks, SFBrother! Hope to see you there!

I probably should have added a "d) all of the above" item to the poll, but what the hell. You guys can pick "Other" and write us a note. Looking forward to meeting you all.

Fuck. I got all excited by the gay circus but then i realized that there are no circus animals.

I havent seen any cool animals on the playa since the camel.

BTW, what does "more gay" on your website actually mean ??

Animals!

Post by GoatWeedy » Mon May 25, 2009 7:11 pm

Animals! Yes, they'll be there... although perhaps not as easy to train as the circus variety. I did see the camel you've mentioned and we're talking with the designer to see what else we can bring to the playa. He's done a lot of large-costume stuff like that. I'D like an elephant and a lion, but we're not sure whether we'll get 'em. We're trying, tho. In any case, we'll have something interesting and fun.

As for "more gay": Good question! We don't propose the whole world should suddenly practice gay sex-- although, that probably wouldn't hurt. But it's not about who you choose to sleep with. It's about promoting love of same/self; working through inner-violence instead of acting it out on others; and nourishing psychological responsibility. Getting more creative, more accepting, more nurturing, more joyful, more powerful as individuals. All that good stuff that has allowed the human race to survive and thrive.

That is all just a vicious rumor.
It's really Beer, Whiskey and
BACON
that has allowed the human race to survive and thrive.

Did they leave it out of the survial guide again? Dam, I hate when they do that to virgins.

I'm glad to see "Be of Service" has the highest ranking on our list so far. Someone wrote-- and I will send a reply soon, Tim-- that "I can get high and get laid in Albany."

So true.

U.G. - possibly so!

In any case, we welcome a broad range of interpretations (and misinterpretations) to our camp. We're stoked to reconnect with other burners, tho, and meet the newbies. Intend to create more radical self-expression and less virgin frat party this round. Glad to hang with the virgins-- as long as they're cool with vintage Playa and gay guys over 21.

Ooooo-kay!!!

Post by GoatWeedy » Sat Jul 04, 2009 10:30 am

I've posted this several places, but thought I'd put it here, too. We've experienced a few crippling financial casualties and won't have the circus tent as planned (weepy clown face). Still, we're doing the circus-themed camp and are working hard to create the appropriate Playa presence. Check our website in a few weeks for an updated layout & images. We're looking forward to meeting y'all and expect a great burn.

Cheers, queers!
