I'm ready for this movie now on DVD. I LOVE THIS SHIT!

One can only hope.dr.placebo wrote:There is a legal theory (and successful prosecution) based on the idea of Aggressive War.
Any guesses as to whether this will have any traction with regard to the Iraq War?
For "Prisoners of War"--which is the first time this terminology has actually been used to refer to terrorists. Interesting. I suggest you actually read or listen to his entire speech.can't sit still wrote:Now, Obama is considering "Preventive Detention"

Ha! And wasn't there just a DHS memo about all the dangerous potential terrorists we've got wandering through our country? Volunteer firemen--and military veterans--and what about all them 'teabaggers'?Now, Obama is considering "Preventive Detention"

Nah, see, I live in this country called the United States of America and every four to eight years a new idiot gets to be in charge. I don't REALLY think that's gonna change--unlike the people who've been screaming for the last eight years that Bush was going to suspend elections.perhaps you'd be interested in my new line of aluminum foil lined Baseball Caps.
Actually, I'm disappointed in a number of Obama's actions. The dishonesty rampant in the financial industry is getting little more than a slap on the wrist. The "enemy combatants" issue is far from resolved. The Bush/Cheney malfeasance is (largely) getting a pass. And the transparency that was promised is far from delivered.lurker wrote:I mean, you called us all 'bushbots' and said we were blind followers--and now, even the most libertine of you are lining up to chant 'obamobamaobama' and happily watch as your saviour sells you down the river. Projection.
I'll second that. I'm really just getting so tired with all the nay sayers, it's not even worth commenting any more.Simon of the Playa wrote:standing and applauding a sound, solid opinion...
Thank You Dr. Placebo for that Surgical, Precise, and imho, very truthful Paragraph.
My view is that the people of the world are going to have to experience a number of severe crises before we wake up, and that there is no assurance that we will live long enough to wake up. Hardly an unalloyed optimistic view. But having an adult in the White House should give us marginally better chances than having a petulant, spoiled and dangerously willful brat.ygmir wrote:dang, where did I put my rose colored glasses?.........I wanna share that view, Doc.............
What was your stance on the Clinton white house?Simon of the Playa wrote:rummy, scooter, freddie malek, cheney, poppy, secord, north, singlaub, hasenfus, gomez, rodriquez, john hull, Ted Shackley, Don Gregg, ooooh, i almost forgot Gonzalez and John Yu.
