The brutal truth is that many people don't take princesses seriously.brcprincess wrote:I know there are people who find it amusing to make phony posts about the current conditions of the Playa, but quite a few of us are genuinely interested in finding out what it's like out there at the moment.
It makes it hard when there's all these supposedly fake posts going on.
C'mon people. Be nice to the rest of us who are getting excited at the prospect of actually being able to ride our bikes this year..

rain today?
There was a huge swath of "green" on the radar for the playa part of Nevada earlier this morning, maybe some rain got put down today? I know we here on the south coast Goleta/Santa Barbara got dumped in. Nice that it washed the fire ash away. Fire belongs at BRC, not here in the foothill scrub brush ferheavenssake.

We have lived in this area for over 20 years and have NEVER seen such sustained rains over a long period of time. And with more to come.We were completely washed out of the Permaburn event this weekend which no one could have ever imagined. If lots of rain makes the playa surface easier to handle then this should be the best year ever.
Be careful. You can spend all your money in there..............................Oriental Visitor

As long as it stops raining by the time things roll around...zorro sings wrote:We have lived in this area for over 20 years and have NEVER seen such sustained rains over a long period of time. And with more to come.We were completely washed out of the Permaburn event this weekend which no one could have ever imagined. If lots of rain makes the playa surface easier to handle then this should be the best year ever.

Stock up on raincoats, the playa gets wet whenever it wants.

I'm not sure if anyone has posted this site link yet, but I think this is the most reliable source.

We have an obligation to make space for everyone, we have no obligation to make that space pleasant.

This picture was taken in June of 2006... Remember how awesome the playa surface was that year?... From everything I've read on the rainfall history this year is wetter than that year. I never made it past the temple last year because it was too hard to ride a bike and the city was too big. My tricycle was broken down after the first night.... NOT THIS YEAR~
