Post by Malakai » Fri Jun 05, 2009 11:34 pm

Hello, my default world name is Nick Lane, but I just go by Malakai. I go by this name due to usage in video games and stuff. I am 17 years old and I am from Canada. Me and my friends are hoping to travel down this year, if not next year, depends on money. Anyways nice to meet you all.

well Malakai, i suggest you and the children of the Korn reach the ripe old age of 18 before you come to burning man, and never, ever admit you're canadian.

at least not around me.

woah.. i didnt really expect to get hate from here. Don't admit I am canadian? Well I am proud of Canada, its a nice place to live in. Whats wrong with Canada? You make it seem like its a sickness that you shouldn't admit to or something. I never brought any hate here, i just introduced myself. And I am probably going to wait till I am 18.

Don't take it personally. It's just so clean and everyone is so nice. (And it's kind of a running joke on the eplaya-that you're not in on cause you just got here.) Good people here, with good advice, plus a shitload of snark and strange humor. It's probably good noob advice not to take anything personally here. Welcome to eplaya.

But yeah I will take your advice.

HATE....IT'S A NEW YORK THING, YOU WOULDN'T UNDERSTAND.

welcome to e-playa, i was just busting your balls because you're from canadia.

you should see what i do to people from Nebraska, which is actually another planet, i'm certain.

On the Actual Playa, you will find that Humor and Sarcasm are almost MANDATORY if you are to truly appreciate the nature of the Event, as well as be on the sharp lookout for Double and the very Rare Triple entendre.

(you're canadian, you should know what that means)

No One is there to hate on you, but we might yank your chain, thats for sure.

Canadians are required to wear a flag on playa, of course.
A new option to the usual tags is available now.
This year, earrings are available that can be tracked on a page at playa info.
All will have custom numbers, naturally.

Oh come on, don't forget to tell him about Dogie Camp, where he can get branded with a maple leaf.

Welcome to eplaya, fellow Canadian Malakai;

First rule of preparing for BM is to just ignore the snark here on eplaya. You might need to grow a thicker skin to deal with it on the playa.

Mostly they're just jealous because we have real beer and health care.

I do recommend trying to wait till your at least 18 if'n you aint coming with parental units.
Not to mention I dont think I know one 18 yr old that can afford Burningman the way you should!

yeah I know, he was just playing around. Just sometimes hard to tell with just text. And I have $800 saved right now, and I work and get paid $10 an hour, so i think I should be ok for the trip. Plus I'm coming with about 5-6 other people so gas would be split on, and the supplies would be too. And We have a big van and an enclosed trailer for stuff. I am looking forward to Burning Man 2010! :)

Actually people are less snarky on the real playa.

Except when they are putting up domes. Or burned out at the end of the week, yeah.
