hee hee, you're funny in the morning. No, really, we DO have peacocks out back of this place. When I moved here in January I'd listen to the doves coo and roosters crowing in the wee hours of the morning, but could never quite figure out what the heck this other sound was until just recently.

I like peacocks. I wonder if peacocks kiss. *googles it*

Post by Deb Prothero » Tue Jun 09, 2009 8:46 am

rubbin' eyes, but singing 'yippity do dah, yippity yay, my-oh-my what a wonderful day".

Morning ygmir, monkeypoo, pinemom.

Did you guys see that rainbows picture that Goathead put up? I was keeping him company on his lunch break, playing some songs.

Sorry to disappoint ygmir, we didn't go in the basement. I haven't had the official tour yet. Don't go into dungeons before I get the daylight tour!

Tops up mug at the fembot!

OK, I'm no expert and hardly know it all, but what I do know thus far is...

The basement is haunted and has ghosts.

There are secret entrances in the bar everywhere.

There's a barn where Mule occasionally hangs out. Yg goes there to feed him oats which makes Mule drunk.

The rafters are a whole lotta fun. I only learned about a week or so what the rafters were really for. Silly me thought it was a place to go up to above the bar to watch everybody below. I consider myself pretty smart but can be sooooo naive sometimes.

There's a fireman's pole to slide down from above to the bar floor. It doubles as a dance pole. If you're pole dancing, keep an eye above or else you could possibly get squished from people sliding down the pole who aren't paying a damn bit of attention to anyone below.

There's an ROS - the Recliner of Submission.

There's an NEB - the Never Ending Blanket.

We have a jukebox and hardwood dance floors. We don't like to sweep up the playa dust from the floors. In fact, we roll in it.

We have several fireplaces with a never ending supply of chopped wood. Very cozy on cold nights.

Out back we have a kitchen. The smell of bacon always permeates the bar. I, for one, LOVE cooking, but will warn you about my brownies, spaghetti, lasagna, cookies, banana bread and other dishes. (My daughter has banned me from cooking without putting warning labels on the food.)

We have a chicken coop out back, so we have a never ending supply of fresh eggs. At easter time, the easter bunny has been caught out there humping the chickens. We have pics.

We have pics of everything.

There is a secret underground passageway to a secret room where secret growlights grow a secret never ending supply of herbs, which is where I get my herbs for my brownies, spaghetti, lasagna, cookies, banana bread and other dishes. Oops - I just let out the secret!

There is still some bits of residue of monkey poo and orangutan poo that was flung all over the place from 2005. Long story. It's how I got my playa name, though.

Oh yeah! There's a chandelier. Several.

I'm sure others can fill you in on the rest of the tour. We make things up as we go along, though.

Oh good. I finally get a break. Went grocery shopping this morning. Grocery shopping makes me a happy happy woman! Call me weird. HALF my cart was FULL of veggies and fruits. I have been in the kitchen ever since! Cutting up fresh fruit. A pot roast is cooking in the crock pot. Fresh asparagus, baby potatoes and baby carrots drizzled in EVOO and spreckled with fresh herbs from my garden are waiting to be popped into the oven. YUMMO!!!! So a moment ago Sammi and her friend come into the kitchen, poking through the cupboards and fridge. "Mom? There's nothing to eat in here... Where's the pizza, hot pockets, potato chips, the GOOD stuff??"

Stands With A Fist Monkeypoo replied, "If you wanna eat that crap, you buy it. Everything I bought is healthy and good for you. Eat some fruit. Eat some cottage cheese or yogurt or some tofu or cheese." :P Heh.

Oh I'm sure there are other things about this bar many others could take you on a tour on. Things I'm not even aware of yet. :P Anybody?

Decided to make my daughter some creamy homemade macaroni and cheese. She's happy now. I am a Food Network FREAK. Friday I think I'll make up some yummy coleslaw and then slow oven cook up a nice big fat juicy pork shoulder so I can have pulled pork sandwiches on a kaiser roll. Looking up a good recipe for a nice spicy rub...

I don't know how healthy all that pork is, but it's homemade and in my book that it makes it healthy.

:P

*notes rumblings from under the floorboards, little feet scurrying to and fro*

*OMWs reverberating from the rafters*

*the sounds of thousands, "of the body" marching, but, where?*

thanks for the drink, Deb.........careful, you don't wake the sleeping giant.........
perhaps **burn** will elucidate, at some point. It was one of here favorite times, here...........or, perhaps someone else?
