Post by swampdog » Tue May 19, 2009 9:55 am

you're just jealous that you didn't think of making an egg, bacon and cheese sandwich on toasted donut.

(cut a stale donut in half and toast it on the griddle for a few minutes)

It was goooooooood

Make everything taste like bacon.

I can't think of a single instance where I would use mayonnaise
where I couldn't just add real bacon to it in the first place to make it better.

serious bacon question

Post by Deb Prothero » Mon Jun 08, 2009 6:35 pm

I'm thinking of bringing some good Canadian back bacon to the playa again this year.

The American border guards usually just want to take my beef so I've learned that lesson. But with the swine flu or H1N1, will I be having my nice bacon confiscated at the border this year?

Anyone got a clue?

I'm still navigating that site but it looks like Canadian bacon might be a go.

Nice try, Canada:

The Brits call this "bacon" too, and call our "Streaky".

Streaky Bacon, any visuals for that?

Hey Ugly Dougly

that's just Bob Evans trying to rip you off. Don't you just hate it when they do that?

That's not Canadian bacon! That looks like sandwich ham or something. Let me see if I can find a picture of what REAL Canadian bacon is like.

We slice it off the pork tenderloin. Barbequed is greaaaat.

The Urban Dictionary states....

Monkey Bacon: A black police officer

Sentence example: The monkey bacon wrote my ass a parking ticket.

Bring lots of it to Lakes of Fire Deb, in fact, bring all of it. We'll take care of it for you

Canadian Bacon Craft Idea: Take 2 pieces of Canadian Bacon and make pasties out of them! Cut a hole in the middle of each (to fasten to the nipples). Take scissors and cut from the edges inward a teeny bit all the way around (to represent a flower somewhat like a daisy)

Pasties for Sail Man! Good plan :D

I'll bring some Sail Man. I've already ordered it from my butcher. I get the organically fed pork - much nicer. The butcher cuts and flash freezes it. Very portable.

Ha! I got to use that on my first mix for Transformus (the theme was theme camps, and that was for Bacon Camp, of course).

I don't remember if I already posted in here that "Bacon salt" is a waste of money. Tastes nothing like bacon. Mostly just salt.

Mike O’Neill’s Bacon Bourbon Ice Cream

1/2 lb bacon, sliced 1/4″ thick
1 cup brown sugar plus more to coat bacon
3 tablespoons butter
2 3/4 cups half and half
1/2 teaspoon salt
5 egg yolks
1/4 cup “goodâ€
