Wow: I'm obviously just ignorant enough to be missing some massive sub-text to this thread. Right before my eyes, it shifted from what appeared to be a legitimate question about availability of the census results into a public lynching.

I'm scared to confess that the reason I came across this thread in the first place is that, as a citizen of Black Rock City, this is information I am legitimately interested in. I think it would be interesting to review and research the evolution of the BRC demographic - from the time of first record collection, through my first burn, right through today.

Crazy shit in this thread: I guess I'm expecting to get flamed for being a stupid California hippie fuck - which, given my experiences with burners on and off the playa, just baffles my mind.

Somebody obviously pushed someone else' button - which, given the vitriol produced, I think should carry a heavy plastic protective cover, labeled with yellow and red diagonal stripes reading:

"Warning: DO NOT PUSH!"

Alright, I'm up for some Friday afternoon fun - start dissecting and flaming.
BTW: Does anyone know if the census results for Burning Man participation are published - and if so, where?

Usually not so soon after the event.

Other issues have precedence no the least of which are many BM office folk needing a bit of time to decompress after returning from the event.

My marginally informed opinion is to check back some time around November or early December.

The '08 info is not even compiled yet, much less '09. Turns out that when you use volunteers dispersed all over the US to do the data entry, a project can take a while.

SnoWake - Not sure if your question was actually answered. Yes, they are published, and earlier in the thread someone linked to the lastest available data (on official Burning Man site). While it is true that 2009 census is not yet available, 2008 and as far as 2001 are available, as part of the After Burn reports, here:

The 200_8_ results are still not available, now approaching 13 months post-event.
