I'm middle-aged, crippled and bitter. Plus I have a government job. Do you really expect any better from me?Simon of the Playa wrote:Really, help me out, because the behaviour of Burners here on eplaya is nothing like what I've experienced before in BRC.

well, i've decided to lounge lazily and pick this one apart piece by piece to savor the flavor of true canuck stupidity and blather.
you're right, it's time i move on and start something fresh, like destroying Rainbow or something.
Ruining BM was just too easy.
If you all just want to upset other people and create tension and angst as much as possible, I dunno, maybe you don't belong at BM.

just because you're canadian, doesn't mean we're not out to get you.I have a feeling the rude treatment people get around here has some kind of purpose, I just don't know what.
think about THAT, mr. maple leaf next time you go sashaying around the world's hot-spots thinking you're some kind of moral superman.
you're not.
remember those nine canadians that died when we accidently bombed them in Afghanistan because the pilots we're up for 6 days straight on adderall?
that was me, and it wasn't an accident.

yes, and sold to google analytics for their new G-Spot feature to compete with Bing! and their new Bling!Bar(tm) which will not only use push tech to tailor to your buying habits, but your recreational and sexual preferences as well.
and you thought it was so you could get coupons in the mail, didn't you...

Wow: I'm obviously just ignorant enough to be missing some massive sub-text to this thread. Right before my eyes, it shifted from what appeared to be a legitimate question about availability of the census results into a public lynching.
I'm scared to confess that the reason I came across this thread in the first place is that, as a citizen of Black Rock City, this is information I am legitimately interested in. I think it would be interesting to review and research the evolution of the BRC demographic - from the time of first record collection, through my first burn, right through today.
Crazy shit in this thread: I guess I'm expecting to get flamed for being a stupid California hippie fuck - which, given my experiences with burners on and off the playa, just baffles my mind.
Somebody obviously pushed someone else' button - which, given the vitriol produced, I think should carry a heavy plastic protective cover, labeled with yellow and red diagonal stripes reading:
"Warning: DO NOT PUSH!"
Alright, I'm up for some Friday afternoon fun - start dissecting and flaming.
BTW: Does anyone know if the census results for Burning Man participation are published - and if so, where?
Thanks!
SnoWake

consider yourself to be a nice loaf of pumpernickel, about to go into the machine that cuts you up into lovely 1/2 inch thick pieces so you can be eaten properly, as in a sandwich, or as toast with some eggs.
dont just be a loaf...
now shut the fuck up, and drink the goddamn kool-aid already before i REALLY harsh your patchouli sucking chai enema blue-green algae mellow.
thats just how we roll baby, we're bitter, vicious assholes.
irony, your soaking in it.

SnoWake - Not sure if your question was actually answered. Yes, they are published, and earlier in the thread someone linked to the lastest available data (on official Burning Man site). While it is true that 2009 census is not yet available, 2008 and as far as 2001 are available, as part of the After Burn reports, here:SnoWake wrote:I think it would be interesting to review and research the evolution of the BRC demographic - from the time of first record collection, through my first burn, right through today....

The 200_8_ results are still not available, now approaching 13 months post-event.Artemis wrote:While it is true that 2009 census is not yet available, 2008 and as far as 2001 are available, as part of the After Burn reports, here:
