Round the World 2 Black Rock

Post by kmagill » Thu Jun 11, 2009 1:00 am

I've very excited to announce the coming together of a epic and daring plan.

A few months ago, under unusually high circumstances, I briefly met a girl who told me about burning man. I've been planning ever since, each day the plan got bigger, and bolder..

Like a brilliant example of the butterfly effect, a brief encounter with a stranger is sending me across the world to a place i'd never heard of before. Burning man.

Today, whilst sitting in my office in Hong Kong, punching away at the same keyboard as i have for years, the final piece has fallen in place, and i know the life as i know it, is about to change.

I now am the proud owner of an eticket that will take me anticlockwise, around the world. a bus ticket that will take me the final miles to black rock, and lastly the burning man ticket itself.

My name is Cream. I am a BM virgin. I will start my journey 2 months before the man burns. It will take me another 10 months to get back home again. If you see me, please say hi. I am there because of you..

Cream.

Welcome Cream!! I think it's amazing that you are making a 12 month trip out of this adventure. It will surely be the trip of a lifetime for you. Black Rock City is an amazing place--unlike any city you have ever visited. The vast dried lake bed is a clean canvas for 50,000 incredible people to build the city of their dreams. Each year its different and more amazing. Extreme weather can add to the fun and mystique of the place.

Be sure to read the First Timers Guide over and over. Also, as you prepare, remember that you can buy all the supplies that you will need in Reno, which is 2 hours south of BRC.

Please feel free to share some of plans for your big adventure.

Again, WELCOME and I look forward to seeing you on the playa.

Sounds like quite an adventure. The makings of a very interesting book, if you were so inclined to keep a journal.

Enjoy the journey!
