Camp of the Living Dead (C.O.L.D.)

Post by Shaman-n-KK » Sun May 31, 2009 9:51 am

We've registered as a zombie themed camp...come join us for horrors of the flesh! We'll be having zombie movie screenings, we'll be teaching the Thriller dance, having brain jello shot bar hours, and a "Flesh Eating" party for adults only...take that as you will! We eat braaayyyns! Placement info will follow when available!

FYI, I was "Camp of the Living Dead" last year. Played zombie movies all night right near center camp, was about it. I'm still working on a "zombie trance" presentation, but I'm not going to the playa this year, so.

I do have a cool t-shirt I could send you...Image

Where there's one, there's a hundred............ I knew there were zombies on the Playa.

Ill tell you what, for you non-believers, This year is gonna be Scouting and Footage. Next year were gonna be out there in force making sure the city is safe from the Zombie Invasion!

The people of BRC will not fall to the Zombie Invasion on my watch!

Hey janicels...would that be the larger, barbier, deathier incarnation of Barbie Death Camp & Wine Bistro...one of our faves! Last year, we we're practically neighbors! This year we're hoping 3:30-3:45 B or C area! Let us know, mmmkay?

A swath of quasi-federal land where experiments unburdened by the laws of God and man may have been performed under the aegis of "national security"...

Located on an offspur of the Oregon Trail, where the remains of who knows how many pioneers still lie under the playa, having succumbed to dysentery, sunstroke, or not having been able to type "BANG" fast enough...

It was...inevitable...

Can't wait for the placement info. I definitely need to check out this camp, maybe contribute if I get my own theme camp stuff taken care of early enough.

i'd recommend against using any moniker of "C.O.L.D." It's a camp of uncontrollable weirdos from Texas, and they are protective of their trademark. They won't be in the desert as a camp this year, but there will be "free agents" about. they are aware of your plans.

you've been warned.

Funny thing is...you're the second posting about that name "belonging" to someone else, but the first thing I did was search past theme camp archives, and there was no "Camp of the Living Dead". I don't mean it didn't exist, it just wasn't registered. Anyhoo, we're just low key, mellow folks, and we'll be changing our theme next year. Just testing the waters...

You're gonna loves these waters hahahahaha

PS
Spelling out "camp of living dead" is okay. However the name "C.O.L.D." and COLD Camp is quite famous. Don't be mad at us when our friends come looking for us and they find you. Your shit is going to get pooped on or worse. I hope there will be a few of you home at all times. I am sure by now you are thinking "Oh crapfuckle".

I don't know if I'd say any name "belongs" to a camp, but C.O.L.D. has a reputation, one you may not necessarily want to be associated with.
Camp of the Living Dead should work out just fine for ya.

C.O.L.D. did register in 2006:

I'm not sure what you're all so pissed about, it's a big freakin' playa. Sorry, but some of our decade-long burners had never heard of C.O.L.D., which means it's possible nearly 40,000 other burners haven't either. I searched 08 and 07 archives, and people are seriously offended by a camp name that hadn't registered since 06? C.O.L.D. is simply the acronym, NOT what we're calling ourselves. It's simply shorter here that typing it out! We've already registered as Camp of the Living Dead, NOT C.O.L.D!!! Threatening to trash our camp is bullshit. WTF? Besides, our 'theme' is the polar fucking opposite of yours regardless of the similarity of it's initials.

i will only say this once, it is of your best interest not to mess with these guys.

i am not associated with them or know them personally, however i have heard rumors and anecdotal evidence that this is the case.

good luck......dont camp near us, they tend to use a splatter approach, and we just dont have enough baby wipes.

Huh. I've never heard of COLD camp. Meh.
from what i can gather, thats probably a good thing.

from their website:

Clinic of Lost Doktors - Emergency Room

Beat your brain's butt at the Library. Beat your Brains yolks at the Psych Ward. Beat Your Brains Electrolytes at the Check-In Cold.Bar. Beat the Truth into you and your friends at the Whiskey Lounge. If anything at all goes wrong, It's OK, you're inn GOOD corporation at the COLD.ER. Have a Martini while you wait for emergency services.

I already see boobs and butts in the rorshacsh. I will need a whiskey funnel and 4 hits of #20 ritalin, prefefably in pie form. The only hazardous material I will be bringing is cranial baggage. All there is left is the catheters and scorpion whiskey. Adult diapers stay on the second floor dome.

Now try it with a little bit of thowup in your mouth. There, that's more like it. Where can I find light bulbs, sausage, barbie dolls, and a crow bar at 4 in the morning when my butt hole is aching for some happy time?
Formula is as follows...

s=relative Sobriety coefficient
h= Hot carls with whiskey chaser
i= Inconvenient carcass mess disposal fee
t= Truth distibution

Hmmm. I find it odd that us folks who are often accused of psycho fucktardery are being treated in a fairly aggressively nasty manner over just having it pointed out that the acronym of C.O.L.D. has been in use for about a decade by another group. In general it was just stated that there might be certain expectations from some who are familiar with the so called trademark of C.O.L.D. antics which could lead to some confusion and disconcertion. Myself, I'm quite entertained with zombies. No problem here (except my irrational fear that I will actually die at the hand of one, but that's neither here nor there.) In all honesty, I've never seen such polite C.O.L.D. discourse on our part, and am a bit baffled by the macho chest thrusting of people who don't know us. We're good people, if a bit off putting at first. It was merely being pointed out that there is an existing camp with that acronym.

I know this is about a month late, but I couldn't idly sit by and see my family pissed on.

C.O.L.D. can read. We have a library. With squirrels.

C.O.L.D. campers are harmless unless provoked. and you're provoking them. at first it was unknowingly, but the general tone of response was most decidedly provocative.

take the "you have been warned" seriously. just sayin'.

Well fuck me sideways with a demolition hammer!

I now have my third Playa project for 2009!

As soon as my boots hit the Playa on Sunday night, my ass is pedaling down to Playa Info and registering 13 C.O.L.D. camps.

I'm going to target 4:20 and every street from Esplanade to Lineage.

I will need help with the actual acronyms. Here is what I got:

Clitoral Orgasm Lickers Department
Cunts of Large Dimensions
Cocks of Large Dimensions
Camp of Licking Dick
Cosmic Ovarian Load Deposit

OK, most of these suck so I need help!

Post them here, let them be smelly and vulgar ...

Meh, I wouldn't sweat COLD too much. Load up some chilled Jeager shots into single serve containers, add a blinky light on top and toss them up the street if any of the Texas COLD people show up. They will totally forget why they stopped by at that point in pursuit of the booze.
Playawaste Raiders cordially invites you to suck it.

Despite actually having one of my eardrums injured by being slapped by a drunken COLD camper (WHO STILL OWES ME MY TRADE PAPERBACKS OF THE INVISIBLES. YES, I'M TALKING ABOUT YOU, EVE), I can vouch that any response from them to being antagonized will probably be as noticeable as a pebble hitting the atmosphere when seen from downtown New York.

COLD camp's idea of a revenge campaign would start with them all rallying together on a tarp (so they don't have to clean up the bottles as they throw them on the ground), yelling a lot, and then end up looking like a work line of ants that all died in the heat trying to rend some spider carcass apart: a line of Texas burners passed out meters apart traveling down the esplinade, hands stretching in the direction they think the offending other COLD camp exists (it wouldn't actually be there, they would probably manage to end up facing their own camp again without having traveled more than 50 yards).

I do love a good war in Utopia.
