Porta Potty Rental & Potable Water Delivered
Anyone know how we can arrange to have a PP brought to our camp. We are in a location that is too far from the PPs and some people have requested rental for our own.
We are also looking to arrange having potable water delivered to our camp.
Any help appreciated.
Thank you

Rent them in Reno and pull them out there. 1t's only a few hundred for 4 of them.
The deadline has already passed for renting a private porta potty through United Site Services, the company that maintains the public porta pottys at BM. Your only bet right now would be to see if you can rent one from a company in Reno or somewhere else and haul it in yourself. You will then need to flag down passing USS cleaning trucks on playa and pay them for each cleaning of your porta potty.

[quote="unjonharley"]Oh! Shit,
Just bring an extra tent. Dig a hole in the playa. Save the dirt from the hole. Put the extra tent over the hole. At the end of the week remove the tent and back fill the hole with the dirt you saved.

If you do this, stay the hell away from my camp. Nasty...

As far as I've seen you just need to flag the trucks down that empty your holding tanks. They'll also fill you potable water. There is a fee involved... but we never figured that out as the truck who was about to service our RV locked his keys in the cab. I"m wondering.........hopefully won't need it, but.....(pun?)........
Can these guys be contacted or scheduled through some official channel. Someone's gotta know. Personally, I've reverted to tenting it.

No official scheduling is done. USS had decided a couple years ago to abandon sign-ups in favor of assigning trucks to patrol quadrants. So if you're in need of a truck, just wait around for a truck to show up, or circle the area on your bike until you find one and then find out if they're on their way to you, on a mission, or if they're headed in the opposite direction. In general, be patient...you're on playa time and so are they.
And give them a can of chilled soda once they arrive. That's a winner.

well not sure where exactly you are located but San Diego County requirements are (1) Basic restroom for every 250 people - so you would only need one and you could probably get it for around $75 for the weekend. I would suggest you make sure to get a 'damage waiver' - as people in parks like to thrash the portable toilets and they can get pretty expensive if you end up having to replace an entire one!! Hope that helps you! :)

They IS NO WHere On the Playa that is very FAR from the Porta Pottie's!!!
Your camping get off your ass and peddle it down to the POrta Pottie! It won't KILL YOU and think of all the entertainment you'll get to see on the way to the PP.
IF You think YOU must have a pp IN camp then I Suggest YOU bring a lock for the door OR you will have all the people in your area using IT also!! Also better off if YOU hide it - like under tarps or behind things... Remember the truck has to have enough rooom to get to the Thing also! For a couple years we had a porta Pottie at Blackie's this just caused problems as EVERYONE IN the AREA was using It! I swear that year the real porta potties in the area were SUPER clean 'cause everyone was using OURS!
TO FRICKING lazy to walk or ride the 100 yards to the banks of Porta Potties!
THey had to have it cleaned EVERYDAY and twice on one day... thats like 75 bucks each time!! Makes for an expensive week in bathroom use!!!!! Also puts a smelly Pora pottie right in the middle of your CAMP!
Soooooo use an extra tent IF YOU MUST!! DOn't DIG A HOLE!!!!
use a wide mouth BOttle with a lid and handle. WHen you really got to go in the middle of the night USE the Bottle then take it and dump at the Porta potties!!

Just put one of those in the camper/van this evening..wedeliver wrote:Here is something you can throw in the back of the truck. The "waste" area is contained and is really easy to dump, Same as the porta potties just with out the walls!
This is a coleman!
velcro'ed it to a little platform so it will stay put. Then velcro.ed a doorskin panel in front of it. Keeps people from looking in and wanting to remove it.

traded the bucket for the water type..Had a Lug-A-Lu. It's a toilet seat that fits a bucket with plastic bags. Carries cedar saw dust for odder control..
Keeping the lug a lu in case of a sewer failure at home. They can be use a lot and the shit can store for a time if needed.
