@ the 2009 BURNING MAN IS SEEKING LA CAST AND CREW:

Cast & Crew Notice

Attention Burners:

Cosmic Cowboy, Camp Mystic, and Infinite Entertainment Now Present an Evolutionary Burning Man Inspired Production of GODSPELL at the 2009 Burn!

We are presently Casting & Crewing up for this production.

All Rehearsalâ€™s will be held in Los Angeles in the month of August 2009. The Performance will be on the Esplanade at Burning Man on Thursday September 3rd, 2009 (with a possible encore performance on Sunday the 6th, 2009).

Godspell was conceived and originally directed by John Michael Tebelak, and offers music and new lyrics by Stephen Schwartz. One of the biggest off-Broadway and Broadway successes of all time, Godspell is based primarily on the Gospel According to St. Matthew.

As the cast of actor/clowns makes it way through its songs, we, as audience members get to see the parables of Jesus Christ come humanly and heartening to life. The show also touchingly presents the story of Jesus' last moments beginning with the Last Supper.

The main story of Godspell is portrayed in the show's subtext--in the way the players interact with their leader, coming together to create a loving community.
