PLEEEEAAASE HELP ME FIND A VEHICLE!!

Post by kimbuktoo » Thu Jun 18, 2009 5:10 pm

Hey y'all,

My burning man crew is really stressed about finding a vehicle and I was hoping some expert burners might be able to help.

We're looking to rent a box van / truck / large vehicle and it appears to be hard to find... Do any of you have experiences renting such a vehicle? If so, where did you end up renting it from? We'll be renting it from San Fran (although we're actually from Toronto, Canada).

I know it is expensive to rent a large vehicle, but we're tyring to find something that's as affordable as possible.

help!

thanks and hugs,
kimba

Don't know if you've tried all these.

and these guys have box vans at some locations.

I think that's all I remember from the Bay Area. You aren't telling them that you're taking it out to burning man, are you? You're really moving your office, or taking your time and unpacking while you're moving, or as someone else suggested going antiquing. Right?

Hey guys,

Awwww... thanks so much for the wonderful tips...

Oh, and no, we're not telling them we're off to BM. But apparently, many companies are cautious when you ask to rent in late Aug / early Sep.

Hugs,
Kimba

What's the name of the guy that rented a truck and lost it in the trade center, and then went back WITHOUT the truck to get his deposit back!?

Do they ever return the deposit when you return the truck without the truck?

Beware of bait and switch deals.
Many measure the cubby on the roof as length.
A dealer nearly had to rent a truck from some other dealer for me after pulling that crap after I told them the length of bed I needed.

Ask over and over.

The AVIS dealership in Sacramento is very burner friendly. Ask for Steve Gatkin, tell him Doc Pyro sent you, tell him you'll be going to BM. His number is (916) 446-2695. Good luck.
