Mmmm... Cookie Dough...
http://www.aboutlawsuits.com/nestle-coo ... call-4547/
A California woman has filed what is believed to be the first food poisoning lawsuit following last week’s Nestle Toll House cookie dough recall, alleging that she was hospitalized due to E. coli infection after eating raw chocolate chip cookie dough.

Jillian Collins, 18, filed the Toll House cookie dough lawsuit in San Mateo Superior Court against Nestle USA on Monday, days after the June 19th recall for all of their raw, refrigerated cookie dough products. Collins alleges that she was hospitalized for seven days after she fell ill on May 26, experiencing severe abdominal pain, diarrhea and nausea.
What do you expect Jillian? Eating raw cookie dough??? Do you expect me to follow you around with a freaking safety net????

Throw that one to the wolves. (I'll bet she's a big one.)

E. coli is a deadly strain of bacteria that should not be in this food. Period. It is not part of the process. It shows contamination of the food preparation process. This isn't live animals or crops grown outdoors, this is completely processed, and thereby free of unwanted organisms.

This is different then eating cookie dough that "cooks" expands in your stomach and makes you feel sick.

e. coli can kill ya

(I like eating raw cookie dough, heck it saves a whole bunch of time)

If it's got unpasteurized eggs in it, then you shouldn't eat it.

(Although I have eaten raw eggs gleefully with sukiyaki.)

So I withdraw this Darwin's Club nomination. Are there any others?

me too ...!

you can buy pasteurized egg whites, and powdered egg whites ... so it's definitely possible to make safe raw cookie dough.

does the package warn not to eat it raw, i wonder?
