Uranus and a Hole in the Playa

Post by KnowMatterWhat » Wed Sep 08, 2004 7:43 am

I've been to (the Vault of) Heaven and back yet I can't seem to tell my ass from a hole in the ground. I try to look people in the eyes and smile here in the default world, yet many can't seem to find the courage to look back. I embrace the comfort and warmth of a nice bath and my cozy bed, yet I yearn for the wind, dust, heat, cold and intensity of the Playa, a baby wipe sponge bath, a few winks of sleep under the morning sun before going about my day in Black Rock City.

I had a great time this year being back Home again. As a Lamplighter I enjoyed helping our tireless and invincible setup crew build our Village and workspace, hosting our two parties -- Monday's Sangria Soiree and Wednesday's Bloody Mary Brunch -- leading teams on the Playa (including many first timers) to Illuminate, Celebrate and Navigate as we lit the City with our lanterns. I Greeted Monday morning from 8:00AM to Noon and thoroughly enjoyed that (as always). My BRC virgin girlfriend SuXena joined me Wednesday and my enjoyment escalated exponentially as we skipped and rode about the City, participating, dancing, making love, sharing love, watching several sunrises from the Temple of Stars, gifting our Guardian Angel trinkets and basking in the indescribable 24/7 beauty of our great City.

I miss (most of) you already and look forward to being with you all again. In the meantime, be safe, be happy and make a positive difference ~ Know Matter What
