Calling all Burners!

My new Burner friends and I are trying to get together a group of people to camp with. If you're not a part of a theme camp and you'd like to camp with a group, you should contact me! There are no obligations or responsibilities, just some people who want to camp with others and get to know you better! Hope to hear from you soon!

She is going to use trickery to get you to camp with her, and then her friend will break out his PA equiptment, and pound Cookie-Monster Death Metal until your eyes and ears bleed from all of the blasphemous lyrics and double bass drums.

burning man stopped being cool years ago.....we only do it now because of contractual obligations.

If you are going to call all burners, may I suggest some sort of phone tree thing? Otherwise your dialing finger is going to get sore.

Hmm. "All burners" is about 50,000 or so right? How big is this camp going to be? Do food and water count as obligations or responsibilities?

This kind of thing is doable.
You need a land grab strategy for the first camp member on playa as far as where you want to camp and how much space you need.
Then you need a way to communicate camp location to incoming camp members. Pick a spot in camp for a collaborative group shade. That is about it to do it simply.
I use signs pointing to camp from the outermost road to guide the Staggers Home. You could do the same thing. You just have to choose which side of the city you want to have camp on. Will it be toward 2:00 or 10:00?

We're looking at the 4:00 time zone and we're trying to get as many people together as we can. We're welcoming anyone and we're hoping to all meet up in Reno on Sunday morning. From there, we have plans with our current group to follow each other out to the playa and wait it out for the afternoon for 12:01 Monday morning. We're banking on the tailgate party on the outskirts of the playa to entertain us for the 12 hours. You are welcome to join us as well!

Please don't call me, since I get charged for incoming calls, am not cool (more of a nerd, to be honest), and can not make it this year in any event (need to conserve cash right, amongst other things.)

Maybe you should all meet in Empire or Gerlach, since Reno is a bit of an overshoot for folks coming from the east (like I would be).

Thanks for the invite. I am very entrenched in Stag Camp so I already have a home on the playa. Otherwise it would sound like fun.

My first year I camped by my lonesome but within a short distance of some buddies with a huge camp. I had a great time. I fortunetly had some really cool neighbors that I wish I could run into again. I think it would be hard not to meet great people reguardless of where you camp.Alot of people commented on the music I was playing and would stop by during the day when I was "home" and have cotails. I am seriously considering doing it again in '10 because I have commited to a camp this year. Just like the Costner movie "if you build it people will come" You dont allways have to be large to have a great time.
