Hey Cryptofishist

How nice of you to drop in! What's a Red Russian? Is that like a cross between a Bolshevik and a Tsarist?

I don't know what a Red Russian is. i"m trying to invent one. And it's not working. But, you know, you gotta have something to order when you cannot stomach the idea of another Cuba Libre.

hmm, well a Red Russian would need to have some Kahlua and some vodka. Maybe you could use Raspberry Vodka for the red colouring???

Here's a drink called a Red Army:

Red Army
½ shot Cointreau
2 shots raspberry vodka
½ shot raspberry liqueur
1 shot lime juice
¾ shot sugar syrup*
10 raspberries
Fill a cocktail shaker with crushed ice. Add all the ingredients and shake very well. Strain into an ice-filled tumbler and serve garnished with a fresh raspberry.

Anything with Cointreau has to be good, if a little sweet.

yes, Karine, you're right. I like the Arrogant Worms version of Happy Birthday because it is different but might not be a good kind of different for this occasion.

Thanks for the whiskey, Risky.

*checks barn, just for the heck of it, for Mule*.............

*enters tack room, slips behind saddle rack, enters bar via "Lower Inter Cottage (of) Knowledge Multiple Entry" system*

hey, I see on the bulletin chalk board, it's Fishy's birthday? if so............
a classic:

*finds Fembot remote, presses "coffee/special" (for Fishy)*
*gets "special menu", selects " special delivery coffee and erotic dance mix"
then selects " seat 8" (where we'll get Fishy when she arrives)

HI Deb:
yeah, early mornings are me......I don't stay up much later than 10........usually. Naps are my friend..........

wow , sorry I missed all the gals last night. I'm sure you all enjoyed the "girls night".......good for you. (though, I'da a been happy to serve you all in garb of your choice)

well,
how about a morning tune?

Two problems with that.
1--No coloring in raspberry vodka.
2--I save cough syrup for when I'm sick.

Maybe it's a vodka/cran variant.

True, very, very true. and if I were making an imaginary drink called "The Wehrmacht" I would expect to catch a lot of flack.
But I do find it interesting that *suddenly* the USSR is oddly chic. Stalin, no, but there's now a nostalgia for it. I'm guessing that it's among those who are really too young to remember.

in red: chuckling.........
OR, some might label a person a Kamikaze for making one based on imperial japanese air force.........

yeah, the romanticism relating to the old soviet union............
I think, we tend to romanticize the past, and, especially if we only know of it what we are told, or read.........just grab the stuff we like, and then, yearn for it...........
