Night at the Movies

Post by Green Wood » Tue Dec 30, 2008 9:00 pm

A thread for all to post comments about their movie going. Give us you your Thumbs Up, down and all around!

The Day the Playa Stood Still- a great remake with a mod theme still not what I believe is going to happen. We will be judged either a viral threat or a welcomed participant when we have the ablility to explore beyond out solar system or at least beyond Mars.

Still the movie very entertaining.
I might be green, but I can burn brite with the help of my playa friends!

Well, I for one thoroughly enjoyed Larry and Me. It was a touching tale of a burner and his dog that, sadly, had to be put down because he kept eating hats
Excuse me Ma'am, your going to feel a small prick.

Julst saw Knowing this night. I give it one thumb up. Interesting plot that wasn't predictable. good performance from Nick Cage. and a movie in which the aliens were the good compassionate intelligent guys once again. Negatives were the jewdeo- christjan interpretation of Adam and Eve. Even half witted Aliens would know that it would genetically impossible to recreate a viable reproducing population of human kind without at least several females and one male, but that several of each would be much better.

Otherwise worth Seeing on or off the playa.

PS- if you didn't see benjamin button, I would definitely do so.

Damn. You beat me to this. I saw Benjamin Button on Christmas. It's definitely my favorite movie lately, one of those movies I could watch over and over again - like I can with Forrest Gump, Somewhere In Time, The Notebook, Gone With The Wind, Cold Mountain...

Brad Pitt now have two movies that will be considered classics- the curious case of Benjamin Button and A River Runs Though It!

I will go to my fucking grave creaming and desirous of the love that Elise McKenna (Jane Seymour)
had for Richard Collier (Christopher Reeve), and the love he had for her... TIMELESS... She wants him.
She wants him BAD. He wants her. He wants her bad. She is dying for nighty-night time with him.
He wants to do the nasty with her. He does the nasty with her. YAY! Their spirits are in synch and
goddammit aint no stoppin' this kinda love... She lets him know in her play... She speaks directly to him...
He sits there and gets a big ol' woody...
this makes my panties wet every fucking time...

Where's my fucking popcorn and kleenex??!!! We're gettin' to the good
moooshy part!!!! *grabs the NEB and NEBOK (Never Ending Box Of Kleenex)*

DON'T LOOK AT THE PENNY, YOU FUCKING BASTARD!!!!
NO, Richard, NOOOOOOOO!!!! DON'T LOOK AT THE PENNY!!!!!

But in the end...True Love prevails, they come back together, they love and lust,
he dies, does the whole Jesus resurrection shit (Hey! Happy fucking Easter, Elise!),
they thrust back into each other's arms, panties, spirits, kama sutra love, they meet
in heaven, and all is good again.

Ain't Love fucking grand?
I mean, ain't Love fucking grand?!!!

I've known this love.
RIP Gerry Graunstadt

You died on my birthday, you bitch, and when I get to heaven I am spanking your ass
silly ass raw, fucking you like a crazy monkey, and you are gonna love it!! You hear me??!!!

Wolverine Origins was the best x men movie yet.

Star Trek? Well its the remake of star trek. A Romulan comes back from the future and changes everthing. But everything had changed. Earth is more advanced and so is the enterprise. I like the aerodynamic shape as opposed to the old enterprise. YOu really need fast slipstream design is space right. Spock is young too along with kirk so forget about the mature spock in First Contact.

So now that star trek, because of a future born Romulin affected the time-space continum, can make new movies with a new younger crew and newer digital effects for a new generation of movie goers.

I'll take Wolverine Origins over star trek anyday.

See you at the playa movies!

Silent Running....A little over-the-top acting from Bruce Dern, but he gets to hang out in a monk's robe, in a greenhouse dome, with robot pals! IN SHPACE!!!! When "they" get around to remaking it I hope he and the robots get to heckle movies....

Terminator 4

Like Star Trek, the terminator series is taking a new direction for a new generation. Now see a new John Connors with super hero abilities. Other then that, it just a futuristic battle movie and it's not too exciting. Save your Shillings for-

Land of the Lost! The comic remake. This has got to be Will Ferrell's best movie to date and of course uses alot of his Schtick and the always obligatory speech of morality and justice that is in every one of his movies.

You will love the playa scenery- most of it was made in searle's valley dry lake area of California particulary the Trona Pinnacles area.

The content is young adult and older.

It's a funny movie not a great movie.

Night at the Museum pt2: Battle at the Smithsonian

I had always expected more from Ben since he is the son of Jerry Stiller of the great comedy team and Stiller and Meara, his father and mother. But he's been disapointing. Most of you younger people are mostly familar with his father's wonderful role as the father of George Constanza (Jason Alexander) Frank in Seinfeld. Timing is everything in comedy and his dad has it which made him and his wife a great stage act luckily Ben has the movies to help him.

If you had seen the first Night at the Museum then you've seen this. Some of the best parts of this movie is the Slap Schtick which he probably learnt from his dad. So with that in mind this is a great movies for kids. But if you have no kids, don't waste your money!

See'ya at the Playa Movies!

Okay, the last movie I saw was the new Star Trek.

Anybody else (who will admit to having seen it) notice that they've set it up so that they can make sequels without having to worry about the timeline, ect., from TOS?

I think this is it, you will have to hit the box that proves you are human, then watch a short commercial, but other than that.........8)

Year One

critics did not like this one, but was really funny especially puning the judeo beliefs into (what they really are) rediculous sexual hang ups.

Yesterday I ordered "The Curious Case of Benjamin Button" on PPV.
I first saw it last Christmas. I love that movie. I've been raving about it to everyone in my family all year. It's a gusher, I tell you!!!! So yesterday we watched it. Talk about one mushy gushy crying baby girl ---- ME. So, Steve looks at me as I'm sobbing like a girly man and he asks, "Are you gonna cry throughout this whole fucking movie?!!!"

Yes.

True Grit, the remake by the Coen Brothers, opens today. What most of you don't know is that my daughter Joelle was one of six finalists to play the part of Matty Ross. In all fairness Haylee Steinfeld deserved to land the role, and cudos to her. She and Joelle look something alike. I think her old man was more disappointed than she was. But there were about two million reasons I wanted her to land the part. But I will certainly go out this weekend and watch True Grit, only to think what might have been.
