Louise and I have a Web site on the French West Indies, and we occasionally get an email from someone wanting to know what the weather will be like on Martinique next February. sigh - They don't want their vacation rained on, but when I explain I don't know what the weather will be like anywhere next February, they get huffy as if I should know.

Barry, hon, it's not hard to call. It's not possible to call. So make up your own forecast and go with it. My suggestions: be prepared for hundred degree days, forty degree nights, sun, wind, dust, rain, mud, sixty degree days, ninety degree nights, and dust. It'll be dusty regardless of the dust levels. Dust.

And if there isn't enough dust for ya, the LEOs can be counted on to circle the event several times daily going 70 MPH just to keep it stirred up.

That is guaranreed to be in the forecast for the entire week.

lol Thanks, but i guess I worded my question wrong. I know it will be dusty, hot, cold ect, I wanted to know if it will be hotter, colder, dustier, then the last 3 years???? Like if it does not rain a lot during the pervious months does that mean we will be in for mega ultra dust storms. The heat not so worried about. The heat at my past burns did not even come close to July Auguest in Miami.

I don't think it's going to be any colder than either heave or Ft. Luaderdale...wherever those are.

I keep hearing about a big dust storm that's gonna happen on Wednesday the 2nd. Apparently, it'll start at about 10:30 AM, and not let up until 7 PM. I'm a bit concerned, myself.

There will be no dust storm on Wednesday. Now that someone told you the opposite do you feel better?

I stand by my prediction of blowing and drifting snow, updated to include possible freezing rain towards the week's end. It is a forecast you can trust!

I am predicting periods of light followed by periods of darkness.

There will be intermittent winds followed by lull's in the breeze.

Sometimes it will be blazing hot, sometimes your nipples will pop out due to the cold.

Waves 2-3 feet with a small craft advisory in effect.
Excuse me Ma'am, your going to feel a small prick.

Good grief, I want one of those! I haven't the foggiest idea of what I would do with it, since it probably isn't street legal around here, but I want one! :D

Found it! Use this, it is intricate technology that is the only 100% sure fire way to know the weather, and works perfectly on the playa:

This rock is the perfect weather indicator, it
never fails. It is more accurate than your local
weather person. This rock is the living word and
is 100% correct. This is how it works:

a dry rock means fair weather.
a wet rock means it's raining.
a dusty rock means a dust storm.
a swaying rock means it's windy.
a shadow under the rock means it's sunny.
a white rock means it's snowing.
if the rock is jumping up and down, an
earthquake is upon us.
if the bottom of the rock is under water it's a
flood.

most beautiful of all, though the rock is not
attached to its' existence, it doesn't mind which
of the above is happening. [/url]
