Damn yes! We are also working on the Abba Override. If frat boys give the host any shit while they are supposed to be getting hypnotized, the audio program in their headphones will immediately switch to that of the Swedish quartet's "Dancing Queen".

Hey, I'll bet we could make some cool spectacle gifts like those out of a certain supply of wooden spirals and some Popsicle sticks! Just need some slave labor!

i am inexorably drawn to the dog of the hair that bit me.
very very nice, congrats....let me know how beta testing went, and as you are aware, slaves are easy to find...
just wheel that puppy over to the mall on some nice warm night and go trolling...when they follow, and they will, put their asses to work.
it's not like they were doing anything anyways.

Fluffer Beta Test Results
Thank YOU Simon! It's important you know that my daughters and I, after fluffing the coats of some of the neighborhood kids, handed them your wooden spiral gifts enclosed in real doggie bags! The result? Many little glee beacons!
Some things I learned at this beta test near an empty field where people were observing the fireworks:
* I've got to find an alternative to fabric softener sheets in the dryer as they are hard to retrieve before they blow away when removing the garments from the dryer.
* Child reactions were ALL positive and they were keen to participate-- sometimes over and over. Some of them first asked "How much, is it free?" which is to be expected in the default world.
* Adult reactions were mixed. If they had children they could quickly see that I was not a threat and having my own children assisting me also made things look more trustworthy. If they did not have kids, some would just think I was a weirdo and hurry by, others, especially those who remembered my previous works, squealed with delight just to have their coats fluffed in a remote location.
* Overall, Mr. Fixit's lead on a playa-worthy conveyance and a partially finished artistic presentation with no audio portion seemed to be successful. Therefore, it is hoped that completion of the look and adding the audio experience combined with a deep playa venue will be an "over the top" skull-shaker for many.
Fluffer will make another appearance at our local Burners Without Borders Benefit on July 18th here in Reno. I say "local" because it is my understanding that these are taking place throughout the country on the same day, and it's a mighty fine cause.
Be well and do strange things,
-Mister Jellyfish.

here is my latest project, almost done....the interior of a 1956 austin healy limo.
alas, it is not going to the playa, although i know it wants to, but i'm afraid it's owner would not be to happy if i gave it back to him all dusty...
the things we do for money....
i haven't even started some of my playa projects yet...i do best under pressure and time constraints anyway....i thrive in forced chaos.

ps...that is warm, buttery leather, and the owner does not have to know that i might have stress tested it naked.

Human Testing Complete
Very nice, Simon. Yes, I would kilt-test that too on a hot day! Mmmmm-- buttery!
I guess I'm the opposite in that I thrive on having an early deadline so I can relax and enjoy the summer and my anticipation of the big event. Last Saturday we brought our piece to the Burners Without Borders benefit here in Reno and did a little human testing with very satisfying results:

Today I cleaned up my garage so it's like I've got a blank canvas with a giant "F" in the middle of it so I can walk around it, see it from different angles, then finish the piece.

i saw him the other day, he's in hell.
he was having a shot of slivovitz at sid's sud's and sod.
it's a laundromat, a bar, and a jewish cemetery where even tattooed jews can get some rest.
it's nice there, he likes it.
nothing wrong with a trailer park if you're amongst friends.
can i get an "OY!" please?

Once I noticed I was on fire, I decided to relax and enjoy the fall™

Big belly-scratchings to all who participated in the Fluffer Project! I'll post some pics on the website once I scour them from Flickr and such.
The juxtaposition of receiving your warm, fluffed coat/hat/whatever on a cold, dark desert night had exactly the effects I was hoping for- those of comfort, love, joy, surrender, and happiness as evidenced by the faces and subsequent hugs. After a while, I learned to suspend the clothing above your head so you could feel the heat and smell the fabric softener. After your anticipation, and that of those in line swelled, I let it slowly trickle down onto your head and face, then stepped back to watch the magic.
Many admitted going into a trance state, thanks to Lucifer, our hypnotic consultant. Something tells me it will change the way a few do laundry for a long, long time.
At Sunday's final "Fluffer Farewell" at the 12:00 trash fence, I was delighted to be greeted by many enthusiastic followers of the project, including "Mike" who was back for his third fluffing. Near the end, two guys showed up separately, one offering milk and "15 minute fresh" cookies that tasted store-bought, the other asking me very direct questions about what substances I might be "on" at the time. I had the faculties to evade, then asked if they knew each other, which they denied, then soon left thereafter. I could tell the guy with the cookies was fiddling too much with his gear on the ground while trying to keep his ear pointed at our conversation. Neither of them seemed interested in participating in the Fluffer experience, otherwise I would build in a "narc override" if we ever do it again.
Although I suspected Fluffer to be somewhat "raver bait", I did not anticipate the LEO's recognizing it too. Live and learn, burner style.
Fluffer will be at the Reno Decompression this October. We may do the full hypno-experience, but I also think it would be funny to run it just as a "coat check".
