When does the man burn?
When does the man burn?
I know it burns on saturday september 4th, but at what time??
The reason I ask when it burns is that I plan on building a scale model of the man to have in my sound studio, and I want the arms to raise up automatic every saturday night about the same time as the real man does it. (without my scale model going up in flames)
I see pictures on the internet where the man have one arm up, and other pictures that the man have both arms up.
So my question is, do the man raise one arm at the time and ends up with both arms in the air?
And how long does he stand there with one arm in the air before the other arm goes up?

The one-arm thing was a malfunction.
Almost everything at BM happens on "playa time". That means it happens when it feels right, whenever that is.
I like your model idea. It would be most accurate if the arms went up at a random time, as long as it was dark.

on an average i'd say 9-ish? you would never have to worry about missing it as there's a pretty good "it's time to go and get to the playa" vibe emanating. --- (sometimes you can cue-in with the red flares that shoot up before it all goes down. -- (that helps us with our "anchor" friends that are getting their stuff together late.)
the one arm thing 2 years ago was in part doing of one of my best mates, "sparks", or ron. he's on the fire team, and they jerked the arm too hard, somehting happened, and it came slamming back down. that was the year the MAN did a forward face dive in what looked to be a drunken stupor. it was hilarious.
-(several years ago the fire team was tugging at the man on his wires that helped anchor him down to help him fall while burning. it looked like he was trying to get away and come alive. that was a good burn too. really funny).

hmm. maybe ron didn't even know he was "participating"?Badger wrote:I have to disagree. The Man's arms and how they are (or aren't) raised is choreographed perfectly by the Universe(TM).The one-arm thing was a malfunction.
