(6) 3/4 - 1 ton rear ends (e.g. Ford, Dodge ...)

We are looking for 3/4 to 1 ton rear ends for a 12 foot by 12 foot mobile dance floor. Ideally we need four of the same make so the wheels can be the same. The other two are for steering and can have different makes. Just let us know what you have and maybe the first match of four we can come and get them.

We are in the Sacramento area but would be willing to drive for them.

Are you looking for Dana 60 or 70 or corporate units? How much weight do you need to hold? Those are some really heavy duty units from a 3/4 or 1 ton. Why rearends as opposed to straight axles? Are the diffs going to be turning some device?

I'm still arguing with the fiancee over what is to be done and do we try and make some money off her, but would she be appropriate? (I can't understand the specs--cars are not my specialty.)

Are you building a small train? 5k per wheel is a huge amount of weight. Might you mean 5k per axle? None of the above mentioned axle units are designed for 5k per wheel. They will most likely work for a low speed application, however. I really am curious about your project. Any pics or drawings?

The basic idea of this project is to have a reusable 12 foot by 12 foot platform. Under the platform at each of the four corners will be 9 ft legs in the style of the lunar lander. Below each leg will be a caster with the wheel on it (this is where these rear ends will go). Kinda sezy and greasy. The two front legs will be able to turn and the "two" last rear ends will be used to enable the casters to turn.

I've put in a request for drawings to Skister who is the engineer/designer of this project. As far as load, etc. Ski is trying to have this platform meet OSHA requirements to the platform can hold 120/pounds per sq. ft. He is really into safety.
