My suit and tie are a hell of a lot less crazy than what everyone else wears!

It's 90+ degrees, in the desert, and yet there you are - in your suit and tie - while everyone else is practically naked and ... Oh, shut up and pass the margaritas.

Please and thank you.

Sensei you nut, you know I sleep all day in the camper and come out after the playa cools down. My margarita would melt too quickly if I was out there during the day!!

Interesting debate/bad jokes/insult festival going on here. My intention has been to share and celebrate the musical legacy of MJ -- "I'm a lover, not a fighter!" I too am tired of hearing about him and his death all over the place, but haven't yet tired of hearing his songs, so to that end, here's Part 2 of my Michael Jackson "Blame it on the Boogie" tribute mix for those of you who appreciated Part 1:

http://soundcloud.com/moontrolling/blam ... son-part-2

Like Part 1, the mixxx is made up of nontraditional tracks found across the internets -- remixes, mash-ups, rare tracks, demos. Some heavy shit in here too, late-night playa-style eff'ed up booty-rockers.

Similar debate over on the Seattle Burners listserv; I related the most to this perspective: "I for one agree that *convicted* child molesters are horrible monsters and certainly deserve their due; in other cases the principles of this great nation advise that one is to remain innocent until he or she is proven guilty. The fact that some juror was "sure he did it" doesn't mean that he did anything. Personally, I have no knowledge about his guilt or his innocence, and while I agree that the legal system is far from perfect, I trust the courts more than I do a conclusion I would be able to draw from advertising-hungry media outlets." While some folks feel confident enough to issue their own verdicts, serving as self-appointed judge and jury, I've decided to give the man-child the benefit of the doubt too. But whatever -- I just can't get enough of "Off the Wall"!

Thanks to those who have emailed me off-list to share MJ memories from the 1980s and love for the free podcast.

If we weren't talking about the Dead Guy BEFORE he died what the fuck makes you think that his death somehow makes the rest of us want to hear about him AFTER.

Damn, the only thing about this whole sordid fucking, media-hyped, bullshit affair that I'm curious about is whether his casket met the Ped-o-Bear seal of approval.

Now, can we just fucking move on.

I don't know about the casket but I'm pretty sure Michael himself earned the Pedo Bear Lifetime Achievement Award.

Are you hosting the OJ Simpson celebration too?
I know a person who is a "convicted child molester" because he had sex with a 15-year-old when he had just turned 18. How many of US might have even done that? Blindly trusting the courts in every situation is just idiotic. The lady that sued McDonalds for shitloads of money because she spilled her coffee wasn't out of line at all... because the courts said so... people that shoot or knock the crap out of burglars that come into their homes at night and get successfully sued are criminals, aren't they?

The dude had enough money to squelch the rap for something YOU would be imprisoned for. He's not innocent, he's wealthy and powerful.
And his music sucked before he died, still does now. But that part is purely subjective.

Edit: I'm not saying it's not OK to like his shitty music; a bad person could put out great music. A lot of artists are fucked-up people. Celebrating MJ's music is one thing, but celebrating him as a person is another.

I'm with the Captain on this one, but I did find this kind of amusing, so I'll leave it here. http://www.eternalmoonwalk.com/

SO, those videos are great fun to watch. MJ's music was loved by many and the moonwalk certainly was his trademark.
