First of all, take a deep breath. No need to panic. You don't NEED to camp with anyone. In fact, you might meet a bunch more people if you put yourself outside of your comfort zone and not be a part of a camp.
Read away my young friend. The answers you seek should always be here somewhere, if you spend a little time looking. http://eplaya.burningman.org/viewtopic.php?t=29356 Although I haven't seen any information on getting involved in a nun-midget three way, it's probably on here somewhere.
As far as finding your new friends. Try looking at last years theme camp listing. (I gave you the first one, this one you're going to have to find for yourself.) If they weren't a theme camp last year, you should have got contact info.

I camped solo my first year and had a good time. If you don't find a camp to hook up with have no fear. Just flip a coin at the greeters after you ring the virgin bell. Heads you go left at the Y and tails you go right. Drive for a while on the outside road and when the urge overtakes you turn in to the city and find a spot. If your bike is easy to get at you could park your car (remembering or writing down where you left your car) and head out for a little bike ride to find some nice personable people to camp with. I camped out in the open my first year and people filled in around me. They were great people and I had allot of fun with them. I like the 9:00 side of the city but the 3:00 side has great stuff too. You will be fine where ever you choose to go.
If you are driving around and you are going slow don't worry about the heckling of people telling you to slow down. Or even SOLW THE FUCK DOWN! It is just another way of saying HI! If you are kicking up dust then they are asking you to slow down.
Oh hey. Another way to figure out where you want to camp is to check out the theme camps and note any ones that interest you. When the placement team announces placement in August you can see where they are placed and aim in that general direction to find a camping spot.
Have a great burn!

If you are bringing a generator with you or one is built in then no problem.... Camp where every you desire. If you are hoping to connect to a grid of some sort to power the camper then you will need to join up with someone who has a big generator. Probably 95% of the city is not on a grid of some sort.
If the camper you are bringing does not have a generator I highly recommend renting one to go with it so that you have all your needs covered and don't have to scramble when you get to the playa. Get the quietest model possible. In general generators output falls as the distance above sea level increases. It would be a good idea to get a generator that's output is larger (by say 25%) than the demand that will be put on it to make sure it works well at the burn.

Vodka. Tell them there's vodka in it and you'll have no problem.H.G.Crosby wrote:so i think about 35,000 people will join you my friend
any ideas on how to get the other 15,000 to drink the fucking Kool-Aid?
You can pick your friends, and you can pick your nose. But you shouldn't pick your friend's nose.
